The game is NOT using/applying Xbox HDR Calibration app settings.

The game has an average and problematic HDR implementation by offering actual Peak HDR luminance control in numerical values (not in nits) only for UI elements, while for in-game Peak HDR luminance you only have 2 fixed options (basically 1.000 nits or 2.000 nits).

The game also suffers from elevated grayscale during gameplay and there's no way to fix it (if not adjusting the TV settings in the wrong way: but don't do it)

For these reasons: Dynamic Tone Mapping is recommended here.

If you have an LG OLED and:

> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:

  • Set Maximum Brightness to: COLOR BRIGHTNESS PROFILE 2 (which is around 2.000 nits; Max)
  • Set Midpoint slider to: 0.12 (it will only affect menus)
  • Set UI Brightness slider to: 1 (it will only affect UI)

> you're using HGIG:

  • Set Maximum Brightness to: COLOR BRIGHTNESS PROFILE 1 (which is around 1.000 nits) or COLOR BRIGHTNESS PROFILE 2 (for G3)
  • Set Midpoint slider to: 0.12 (it will only affect menus)
  • Set UI Brightness slider to: 1 (it will only affect UI)

If you don't have an LG OLED and:

> you don't have an HGIG option:

  • Set Maximum Brightness to: COLOR BRIGHTNESS PROFILE 1 (which is around 1.000 nits)
  • Set Midpoint slider to: 0.12 (it will only affect menus)
  • Set UI Brightness slider to: 1 (it will only affect UI)

> you're using HGIG:

  • Set Maximum Brightness to COLOR BRIGHTNESS PROFILE 1 (1.000 nits) or 2 (2.000 nits) depending by how much closer it gets to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits"
