The game is NOT using/applying Xbox/Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.

The game has an poor HDR implementation with a fixed and not adjustable Peak HDR Luminance which will have an average of 235-350 nits with only rare occasions where some light sources can go up to 800 nits or where splash screens will flash up to 2.000 nits.

For this reason it is suggested to use Dynamic Tone Mapping in order to offset potential highlights clipping and lost detail in bright areas.

Will you be doing NBA 2k23 as well? Curious to see if there are any improvements and if it will use the system wide settings. Appreciate your work!

Yeah, from what I'm seeing it's basically the same poor HDR implementation of NBA 2K22 (no system HDR support, low Peak HDR Luminance), so just enable Dynamic Tone Mapping in order to compensate the overly dark picture.
