Crysis Remastered Trilogy - HDR Optimized Settings (Patreon)
Content
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox/Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.
Crysis 1 Remastered
This doesn't have a good HDR implementation. There's no way to adjust Peak HDR Brightness and there are no HDR controls at all.
For this reason it is suggested to use Dynamic Tone Mapping in order to offset potential highlights clipping and lost detail in bright areas.
Crysis 2 Remastered
HDR things get better in the other 2 games as you actually have some Peak HDR Luminance and HDR Brightness sliders.
Measured Peak HDR Brightness can go up to around 1.200 nits.
If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
- Set White Point slider to: 100 (which is around 1.200 nits; Max);
> you're using HGIG:
- Set White Point slider to: 45 (which is around 800 nits) or 75 (for G2) or 100 (for G3).
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
- Leave White Point slider to: 75 (which is around 1.000 nits);
> you're using HGIG:
- Set White Point slider to one of those values and the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits":
- In all cases set "HDR Brightness" slider to 5 for a balanced exposure/gamma.
Crysis 3 Remastered
HDR things continue to get better as you actually have some Peak HDR Luminance and HDR Brightness sliders + measured Peak HDR Brightness can go up to around 1.600 nits.
If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
- Set White Point slider to: 500 (which is around 1.600 nits; Max);
> you're using HGIG:
- Set White Point slider to: 100 (which is around 800 nits) or 140 (for G2) or 420 (for G3)
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
- Leave White Point slider to: 140 (which is around 1.000 nits);
> you're using HGIG:
- Set White Point slider to one of those values and the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits":
- In all cases set "HDR Brightness" slider to 40 for a balanced exposure/gamma.
