There have been a MASSIVE number of requests for a quest where Kalyskah would be a 'hostage' of a group of bandits or anything of the sort lately.

There are two "Buts" on a quest like that:

  • We must make sure that it's consensual
  • Prologue Kalyskah is just too powerful to be kept anywhere she doesn't want to.

But then I realised that these two don't really make it impossible for a quest like that to happen, if put side by side we can see that one is the solution to the other. Meaning that the fact that Prologue Kalyskah is too powerful, automatically implies that to be someone's "hostage", she must want to be there.

So with that in mind, we'll start to think of a system for that to work. I can't guarantee it will be implemented in the short term because we aim to make more short quests to populate the island.

But I can think of a few quests where Kalyskah can either decide to stay with bandits to play a low profile and discover some conspiracy. Or being the ancient and powerful being she is, she might just want to spice things up and hang out with some mean folks, maybe exploring her submissive or masochistic side. Who's gonna judge the Queen of Vampires? Definitely not her Legion!

We will think about and develop this idea while keeping your feedback in mind. But remember, it might take us a few months to brainstorm and think of a way to make this feasible. And for now, we are committed to working on smaller quests until we can move forward with the main plot again.

Well, you have at least a couple of suggestion already, for the prologue, plus what you just said now. Plus, I know repeating can seem boring, but you could have two different situations/quests, one in the prologue, when she is very strong. But then another one that you could add up in the "main story" after, when being weaker, she might not be strong enough, and that would also give her (and the player) to think/see how the feeling goes with the difference between doing the submissive/masochistic because she wants to try when she is strong, and when she really is not strong enough to resist (even if it is not physical resistance, but will resistance). Would she still like it, or get used to it like if it was what her role has become (getting used and liking it, are not the same), or will she find an intermediate, or raise again (knowing sometime pride can be a bad advisor, and short-term bending may actually give the possibility to raise again) ? Up to the player :-D. And if you don't want to foresee a kind of sex/BDSM slave "game over" if she gets too used to it, can always put the possibilty of a rescue by her demonic friend, which can leave open to both completely revert, keep some tendency in the variables, or even be the boss but who can still secretely have moments when she is the opposite, a bit like with the collar indicating a certain possibility. You had already mentioned the idea of having something that can dampen her powers after the prologue. Instead of dampening (passive) someone could be using some magic artifact that gives them powers too strong (active) and she cannot resist (especially because she is far from her top shape), forcing her even just in terms of "would like to say no but cannot manage". It would be a bit like when she try to break the spell on her followers, but failing because her magic is not strong enough, only in this case she would be trying to manage to refuse submitting to someone else's will, but being conscient that she was not strong enough and that therefore she has to submite (when she fails to releaser her acolytes, they don't realise they have fallen prey to a spell because too weak and she failed to release them, she would realise both things, thus a difference for her). Then she could try to escape, try to destroy it (but could still be too weak to win if she stays and fight, since her stone was broken in pieces, so a big decision with possiblity of victory or being prisoner again), or use it to recover some power as partial replacement for her blood stone. It is similar to the idea of the hostage, and the idea already given by others, but expanding it a bit, so you get two different quests and takes, at different moments. The hyperpowerful Kaly at the prologue. The Kaly that has to learn to live with the fact the World is different and her power (and powers) are gone, and struggle to recover them, or decide she can live without, or decide she does not need everything and recover only some, or fail in trying and bear the consequences (and that does not have to be a yes/no, can be a various possibilities that can give victories and failures.

On the post prologue gameplay it's actually WAAAY much easier to implement something like that because we have the Puppeteers. So we can easily justify that her master\mistress could have sent her to please someone in order to pay some debt or something of the sort. On the post-prologue game Kalyskah is not just weaker, but have room to be more submissive since there's no one for her to boss around. As for trying to escape, etc. That's not something we would want because like I said, it *needs* to be consensual. We will never add non-consensual sex in the game. So I could see a situation where leaving the place could lead to consequences like... the debt not being fully paid and the master/mistress not being happy about it, but she wouldn't be forced into having sex with people in case she failed to flee.
