Hello everyone, Corintio here!

Ever since we started, our goal with the game Kalyskah have been to make an RPG with entertaining story and nice ambience, to immerse the player on a world where sex is not treated as a reward after you finish a questline, but as a way to wrap the storytelling and to add a layer of freedom of choices. To improve how those scenes will weight and have consequences, it’s important for the characters to have personality and to make a mechanic where Kalyskah can succeed or fail on her encounter. And that’s what we are starting sketch on this patch. 

We added a stamina and an arousal meter, where the stamina is slowly drained with time while the arousal raises when the characters are interacting with each other. Kalyskah fails if the characters on the scene lose their interest or get tired before reaching climax. There is an option to ask to ‘have a break’, which will cause the intercourse to stop and give both characters time to catch their breath, recovering their stamina bar while the arousal drops. Actions can be performed and they will raise the arousal faster, but also drains a bigger part of the stamina. Changing poses will also have a cost on the stamina. We haven’t added new poses based on player attributes or different interactions for this patch, although it won’t take too long for us to expand this since now, we have a new animator. 

So what is effectively changing on this preview? 

The procedural interface with the arousal and stamina mechanics+ Many new voice lines for Kalyskah based on a personality poll that we did a while ago, where people asked her to have more 'dirty and submissive' voice lines + Kalyskah needing to succeed on the sex scene in order to make the undead at the dungeon disappear if the player choses to play those scenes instead of the “begone, I set you free” option. 

At this stage Kalyskah will not reach climax because we don’t have actions or poses that gives her more pleasure than it gives to the partner, but that will be expanded in the future.

Now let’s move to the other nice stuff we have been doing through the week!

Changelog 0.8.8 Preview – 18/08/2019

Fixes

  • Improved the way NPCs deal with the deforms on their bodies, so when a female character unequips a piece of cloth, it shouldn’t cause as much problems as it was before on the breasts.
  • Fixed the bug that was enabling the player to press the interaction keys many times before actually grabbing a rodent to suck blood
  • Fixed rotation on NPCs that were interacting with objects before you started to talk with them
  • Fixed interacting with objects and people through walls
  • The “New Game” button will not actually erase your quests and spawn you at the beginning of the dungeon
  • NPCs should try to avoid each other (Please don’t laugh if they flicker, we are solving that!)

Enhancements

  • We are improving some roads of the game. We will get into more details on preview 2
  • Kalyskah now reequips what she was wearing after a sex scene is completed
  • The undead that defeated you, will no longer disappear after the second chance dialogue is done
  • Added a ‘timeout’ on the function that makes the NPCs move to a place, so they won’t be trying to reach an unreachable target for too long
  • Improved NPC movement on the city so they won’t try to enter on locked houses (Which was causing them to stand facing a closed door for almost a minute)
  • NPCs will now go visit the house on top of the hill from time to time. We will extend the village to that area in the future.
  • Reduced all those choices of poses and (cringe) things that Kalyskah could say before starting a sex scene to just one, that will start the new toysytem. Notice that the lesbian and splitroast scenes haven’t been tweaked yet. They won’t break the game, but they are not working as intended yet.

Features

  • There is a new village that we are working on. We will get into more details on preview 2
  • We are remaking the whole way that our sex scenes (Which we call Toysytem for no reason) works. The interface is now procedurally generated, where interaction buttons appear on a side bar when you change poses. But beware, using an interaction consumes stamina! 

Notice that this is a weekly preview patch, so for now it’s only being released for the Royal Blood tier because although we are improving the roads and having nice things like this:

This patch also has awful things like this =)

We will probably release a new "Preview" before making version 0.8.8 go to the Vampire tier patrons because we have a lot of polishment to do, not just on landscape but we also need to expand the interactions and add some camera effects on the intercourse scenes.
