Hello everyone, Corintio here!

Last month we started to look for new talents to speed up the development of our game. We also spend a lot of time working documents and building lore, giving life to the world Kalyskah lives in.

To do so, I contacted a few friends that know lot about architecture, narrative and I also read a few books that helped me to write a story more related to the Sword and Sorcery genere, instead of Fantasy. For those who don't know, Sword and Sorcery usually portrait a chaotic world, with things lurking in the shadows and the protagonist is sometimes put on situations of questionable moral, where everything around her\him is dark and violent. Where magic usually comes with a high price and sanity is questionable. Mixed with some Gothic elements, that usually has some melancholy and tragedy, I'm coming up with the shape of not just Kalsykah, but the lore of the whole civilization that she lives in.

This is important because we've came to a point, a few months ago, that we saw everything that we had and thought: "Where is the soul of it? What is our voice in all this mixture of vampires, zombies and necromancers and old conspiracies?". Turns out that we had made the story just around Kalyskah, but we didn't actually added depth to see how the world reacts to her existence. We knew since the start that she was ancient, she lived thousands years before the events of the game but still, there wasn't much for her to remember because the lore was shallow.

And this is part of what this month is about, I will continue to go deeper on the lore so we will have a document to give to every writer that works with us to read, and this will also be the "bible" of the project when we create the world's surface. For those who have followed our progress from a long time, yes, we did had a surface world before and we worked on it for months, but it was being done on the wrong way. First we where trying to do it by ourselves, and second we didn't had 100% of the timeline that could have shaped the environment.

To fix that, but also to avoid spending to much time to remake things, we used some money that we have got through your support and we hired someone to reshape our world based on it's history. I'm excited to show you the results but that will have to wait until monday, where the landscape will be closer to the final version =)

I could ramble the whole day about each task, but to avoid making this post too long, I'll list in topics the outline of what's planned for this month:

 • Find someone to model Kalyskah's hair;
 • Make the landscape of the surface world;
 • Make the first village of the game so in December we can program the quests that are already written;
 • Launch another animation demo for the Royal Bloods and make the "Coven on a Cave" available to the Vampires;
 • Redo the two handed sword animations;
 • Release the Dungeon level with the newest version of Kalsykah model and improved sword animations. Hopefully we can get Merishya to help on the boss-fight and also add some hints to the barrels puzzle;
 • Finish the Launcher;
 • Have the Moodboard and the Moodpainting to start to make a design for a unique architecture based on our game's lore.

I am graduated now, finished Game Designer College. And without needing to worry about tests and college projects, I'm now able to work full time on the game. So with your support, that will make me able to get freelancers to do things that are out of our aptness, this game will have a big boost of content through next months.

Sword and Sorcery? Are you sure your not describing Dark Fantasy? https://youtu.be/zV35vnQ94g0

2022-01-05 20:46:07 Sword & Sorcery is a subgenre of Fantasy, so I guess either works. I think Corintio is trying to specify that he's aiming to make the game darker and more serious in tone, but I am not sure. -Merishya Saniroza

(Corintio) Dark Fantasy usually have a world that is more violent, the evil is all around and the good is struggling, its different than what we are doing but both genres can be mixed. And Sword and Sorcery usually turns more around the protagonist instead of the world. It's like you having a camera closed on the protagonist face all the time, while the story of the world happens on the background and you need to get the hints to be able to understand it completely.

(Corintio) Dark Fantasy and Sword and Sorcery CAN work together, but they are different genres. But the game will turn a little bit more darker, I just wouldn't say 100% serious because both Kalyskah and James are usually light humored, although for Kalyskah this is some sort of mascarade.

I think I see what you mean? Then let me ask you a question. Is this game closer to Berserk? Or is it closer to Conan the Barbarian. Because Berserk is a prime example of Dark fantasy,while Conan is Closer to Sword and Sorcery.
