Love to see Jennie on Record Club :) Rhythm Nation is not an album I had listened to before this week but it hooked me first listen. It was so familiar and it took me a minute to figure out but… Sailor Mars image song “Fire Soul Love” is so shamelessly inspired by “Rhythm Nation.” For that alone I’d put this album as one of the most influential of all time. https://youtu.be/uFzppF9szkk?si=1S2vNJ0uIEHSK4Di (Escapade reminded me of Sailor Moon too, but I haven’t placed what song yet) I also was struck by the familiarity of “Miss You Much” and realized it was in a Weird Al polka. We haven’t had too many Record Club tracks crossover with Weird Al yet (that I can think of?) so that’s another point for the album. Title Track, Escapade and Black Cat were my top picks.

This is as good as (if not better than) any record Michael ever put out.

It'd be nice if we could hear a preview of the songs mentioned as they're talked about, but I'm guessing YT won't allow it.

Could do without the interludes - otherwise, nothin' but bangers on this

Well, Lemmy died in 2015, so we'll never get that Janet collab.
