One of my favorite and the best jazz records ever. I think it’s perfect front to back and is a good example of a record that starts out with the best song on the album but is then able to keep quality consistently throughout the rest of it. 5/5 for me, so glad Shawn got to listen to this one. Also just picked it up on vinyl earlier this year.

Claudia ruled!! I hope she can come back, too! Growing up, my dad was a trombone player in a jazz group so I was exposed to some aspects but I don’t know how much of it was Coltrane. He was one of the bandleaders and has a penchant for big band, swing and some fusion stuff. That said, this was an excellent listen. I loved Mr. P.C. and Cousin Mary. I didn’t get to spend as much time with the alternate takes but I think that will be nice to dig into next time I need some instrumental stuff while I’m working - I’m on a bit of a Donna Summer kick right now lol
