Sorry for the delay on this episode- ran a little late but here it is!

What a rush! Step into the portal and watch our deep dive into Stargate, an action movie from the 90s that tapped into peoples' otherworldly fascination with pyramids and stuff. Did it rule or has the flow of time damaged this desert adventure?

Next week's movie is PRACTICAL MAGIC.

I never saw this movie before but I watched it in anticipation for this episode. I was really surprised I genuinly enjoyed it. Reminded me of a Spielberg movie (The fun kind)

Have you guys heard of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water? It’s the show Hideaki Anno made before Evangelion and Disney was sued because of the similarities Atlantis shared with it.

This is Garrett’s favorite Timothy Chalamet movie.

A fun episode, just like all the rest! Looking forward to the next one, too, even if the subject matter of it sounds like stuff I'm not usually into. The vids here always are, anyway! ...and while this one has me sitting in the 90s, I'm still holding out hope that the conversation on the Podcast a couple months ago, where Shawn mentioned never seeing Goldeneye, comes back around and makes that movie a pic sometime

This was my first time seeing this movie and I 100% agree with Derrick that Atlantis ripped this movie off, I was getting that same vibe.

I actually liked SG-1 way more than the movies. I think the TV cast vibes much better and, with it being a show, there's more time to balance world building w/ storytelling. Plus, it's just super fun to see a show w/ physical, elaborate sets or like filming in the woods and saying, "we're on another planet" since shows don't just do fun stuff like that anymore. Still, I really dug this episode!

Rocco's right about about the movie being a cool Sci fi concept that doesn't really pay off. The writers of SG-1 knew that there was untapped potential and did a pretty good job building off the groundwork that the movie laid.

Just a friendly reminder that your local libraries likely have this movie. After seeing the version on Netflix cropped to 16:9, I picked up the Blu-ray at the library. Streaming exclusivity can't touch the libraries!
