No, we didn't say Librarian. It's Conan the Barbarian- a movie all of us had heard of but hadn't totally watched as adults. Arnold swears it was a godsend to his career... but does it live up to the legend? Join us as we explore this sword and sorcery adventure together!

Next week's movie is DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.

love this movie ! such a shame about the sequel, apparently a big problem was the studio taking more control and wanting to shift to a more tame, PG version of Conan, which never ends well, it was done by a different director and it definitely shows the director of this original Conan film wanted to recapture the magic and get the film series back on track with "Red Sonja" a 1985 film set in the same universe as Conan, that ended up being so bad Arnold has said he jokingly threatened his children they'd be forced to watch it with him if they misbehave

Fantastic dive into a fantastic movie.

To Rocco's question: The highest disparity between Popcorn Shakers™ is Rocco (5) and Shawn (2) on Mulholland Drive Whereas: Don't mess with the zohan (Derrick 3) Ghosts (Rocco 3) Babe Pig in the City (Derrick 2) Popstar (Rocco 4) King Kong (Derrick 3) Howard the duck (Rocco 3) Have one person 2 shakes higher than the other two (who happened to both have the same score as one another for each of the 6) https://letterboxd.com/fromaginator/list/mega64-movie-club/detail/

This is one of my fav movies and it was awesome to have Derrick back to complete the crew for this review. Did you guys miss the part where he is ridden down by the riders and has to fight them all in some ruins? He has some famous lines delivered in that scene as well when he prays to his god Chrom.

Really cool that this list exists! Fun to look at it all condensed like this

The director, John Milius, wrote a lot of really highly charged movies, including Dirty Harry, Apocalypse Now, and Red Dawn. He's pretty notorious for his far right political views, so having the villains in Conan be hippies is pretty on brand for him. Another fun fact, John Goodman's character in The Big Lebowski is supposed to be based on Milius.
