I think the best mindset to be in for roguelites/likes is to think of it as a completely different type of game than anything with linear progress. You are seeing similar rooms and might even notice repeating enemy patterns but every time is slightly different and every run you are gaining experience, muscle memory, and skill, and can do everything faster and better than the previous time. There are definitely bad roguelikes that are frustrating and not satisfying but the good ones feel amazing when you really get into groove and can crank out a run really fast. This game is fantastic btw, one of the few games that I really believe is worth the extreme hype it got
