In early 2006, the crew at SpikeTV's gaming TV show "Gamehead" contacted us about doing an entire episode centered around Mega64. They would come out and shoot segments at our base of operations (which, back then, was Shawn's dad's house!), and premiere a brand new skit at the end of the episode. This was on short notice, so we raced to film a video quickly... it was our Resident Evil 4 video, and it ended very badly.

But that's besides the point- the TV show was all shot on this day in early 2006 in every room we could possibly squeeze a segment out of (we made up a phony editing setup out of a laptop and broken PC speakers at the threshold of a fireplace, but they elected not to shoot that part). Geoff toured around each room in the house, and we fluffed up whatever we could about what was in them.

In between segments, Geoff (while wielding his two phones- a blackberry and some other kind of regular phone, maybe a Motorola Razer? This was pre-iPhone, so something like that probably) got a news alert that Nintendo's next console, the "REVOLUTION," was actually just going to be called Wii. Nobody believed him when he said it- we heard "wee" and thought... this guy has to be messing with us. Nobody would call any device that. He also informed us there that Attack of The Show got a new cohost named Olivia Munn, which was shocking to the one of us who always used to watch The Screen Savers on TechTV.

But anyway- we reminisced about the shooting of this and a bunch of other projects in our chat with Geoff during 64X 2021, and it inspired us to do some digging in the Mega64 Vault to find footage we knew we held onto from this memorable day. Enjoy some of the behind the scenes footage from shooting in Shawn's dad's garage- the very place Mega64 started in 2003.
