In early 2017, when fidget spinners were truly blowing up, our plan was to quickly do a video about them. When we looked them up online, we saw a young "influencer" on Instagram- a seemingly innocent kid- just posting simple videos of him spinning. The comments on the video were absolutely atrocious and way too over the top for what the video was. Our idea was... why don't we just legitimately post just a clip of us spinning our fidgets with those exact same unaltered comments next to then? Surely reality could be even funnier than fiction, right? Well, wrong. We watched the clip and it just felt too weird to upload to our main channel on its own. So, the last-second decision was made to add an entirely new front section to the video, where three men are interviewed about a digital influencer. This would set up a huge climax in which... we just play the fidget spinner segment we already made. Once it was edited all together, it was decided that this sketch wasn't really coming together, and rather than continuing to polish the turd we just moved on. But we must re-emphasize... the comments on the Instagram were ALL 100% REAL and not written by us (except for two we absolutely had to replace).

As someone who always appreciates a good gag in a news ticker - I really liked all those user names and comment conversations

This is great. You guys should take this video out of the vault and post it on your main channel

rocco, the more effort you put into content, the less good it does and the less people like it, even if those people are your close friends. just look at the metal gear solid 5 min video: it was TOO good so people didn't even believe it was made out of cardboard and you had to scale it back. the internet is NOT a meritocracy. why do you think we've had good fighting games for 10 years? because for the previous 10 years before that, the genre was kept alive by BAD fighting games that sold really well like mortal kombat armaggeddon.... hell, i Like mortal kombat armaggeddon beCAUSE it's full of shitty bonkers stuff that should not be there and ruins everything. put this on the main channel, put the full fidget spinner video making of video up later as a "behind the scenes", and you'll be trending #1 in the News & Politics category in NO time
