Sorry for the delay on this one- lots of outages or whatever with Patreon last weekend.

It took a new movie to make us appreciate an older movie way more. Dolemite Is My Name, the story of the creation of Dolemite starring Eddie Murphy, is totally great. Let's discuss this movie and how it reminds us of the making of Mega64!

I watch all of them before watching each week's videos, have been having fun with all of them too. On that note too, I'll recommend watching more B-Movie stuff, it's more interesting knowing some of those facts you bring up with those (like in this case with Dolemite) than for more commercial ones I think.

I've been watching the ones I hadn't seen before with my S/O each week. Great way to kill a few hours each week and has exposed me to a few things I wouldn't have otherwise.

My number one suggestion for an episode is Tampopo. It's directed by Juzo Itami who was later murdered by the Yakuza for his unflattering depictions of their lifestyle. This film has a small slice of that but is largely a fun, whimsical movie about how awesome food is. They called it a "ramen western" in the marketing and it is really something else. There is a Criterion, it may be on their streaming service as well.

I've been watching along. It gave me a good excuse to finally grab the 4k of Casino and The Night of the Hunter got me to start seeking out more 50s and earlier movies that were either off my radar or on my backlog for years. I actually started a movie club with friends based on this idea and it's been going on 6 weeks now. Great idea for quarantine.

I watch the 10 movieclips on youtube beforehand if I haven't seen it. That gives me enough context.

I've watched every movie alongside you guys if I haven't seen it before, and I rewatched Roger Rabbit.

Also, my movie recommendation is the crowdsourced Our Robocop Remake (2014).

I do watch the movie before watching the MC episode. I love having this virtual communal experience with you guys, much like what you discussed at the end of this episode. My biggest discovery has been The Night of the Hunter. Because I watch the movie first, I'm usually about a week behind watching the discussion. For that reason, I don't usually know what the next movie until I watch it (a week later). Perhaps you can make it a point to announce what the next movie is in the show notes? Keep this up, guys - its one of the things I look forward to the most each weekend!

We usually try to post the first comment on the video with what the next movie will be! We'll try to do that more.

Really late watching this but I sometimes watch the movies ahead of time. I did have a movie suggestion though: Hot Rod.

You guys should watch Ed Wood one day. Probably my favorite, "making a movie", movie ever made. Also the best thing Tim Burton has done imo.

I dont really watch any of these before hand, its either I’ve already seen it or I haven’t. One exception, I want to watch Perfect Blue before I see the movie club episode.
