Metal Gear Solid In 5 Minutes, and an update! (Patreon)
Content
Today we've released our new video we've been working on for a while- a live action Metal Gear Solid adaptation that is completely handmade and without computer effects. That's right- Sweded like our DBZ videos. It's Metal Gear Solid in 5 Minutes (Although Psycho Mantis may have tampered with the runtime in ways that may make it appear longer).
We've known for a while that we wanted to return to the world of Metal Gear, as it was a huge inspiration on us and a major foundation for the beginnings of Mega64. Because of your support, we were able to go more ambitious with the video and make homemade stuff on a level that wasn't possible for us before. Garrett was making stuff for this full time for a while and we couldn't have been happier. The giant Metal Gear Rex was full size and made of cardboard TV boxes! Who but Garrett could think of that stuff?
Anyway, we'll have a bunch of behind the scenes stuff coming for this video later. Stay tuned for that.
Now that it's out, we are back to filming Version 4.1 stuff tomorrow! We are still working on that as we've previously said on here. Beyond allowing Version 4.1 to be a thing at all, Patreon has allowed us to create more ambitious videos like what we released today. Making things on a bigger level, while maintaining the Mega64 charm, has always been our dream. Our MGS video showcases everything we've finally been able to do in our new studio. Version 4.1 will do that as well. Trying to create both types of content has been a tricky balance, because BOTH always take longer than we expect to get right (This MGS video was planned to come out in March! Ugh!). And if we spend too long on one thing, the others start to fall behind, and people aren't happy (We can't just vanish from the internet for a year and expect anyone to ever speak to us again). But we always believe in taking the time to do it right, and when we're not able to work on one type of project, we're always bouncing over to the other stuff to keep going. We appreciate your patience, no matter what it is!
Stay tuned for more fun stuff from Mega64!
