As always, gonna preface this with positivity. Love you guys forever and ever and don’t want this to come off as hate. But personally, I don’t like when you guys do the direct uploads to patreon rather than link an unlisted YouTube video. I know there are workarounds I can do to get these videos on my tv like airplay and chromecast, but the way my shit is setup makes it very cumbersome. I understand that with unlisted videos, people who don’t pay you would be able to watch the video if a patron sent them the link, but I can’t imagine that happens too often. If it was happening at a high rate and the only option was to post to the patron player, that’s fine. But just want to express I liked it better when you posted unlisted YouTube videos. It allowed me to save them to a watch later playlist rather than have to search patreon posts whenever I want to watch an old video.

Most of the time if it's posted directly on Patreon it's because it's something that's likely to get copyright struck, that can happen even if the video's unlisted. Most of the Friendimensions, behind-the-scenes, and Movie/Record Clubs are still done through Youtube. It's probably not a universal option, but I have a Firefox extension called Video DownloadHelper that lets me download videos off Patreon, so I can watch them on my phone without internet or an extra app.

We have to upload here (or Vimeo) sometimes for copyright reasons or otherwise. For the record, we’ve had no issues (at least on our end) casting material from the phone app.

Aha. Copyright. Didn’t think of that at all. That’s totally fine then. Of course I’d rather it here than nothing at all. Genuinely appreciate the explanation. And ye, my casting issue is very unique. I try air playing from my iPhone to LG oled but the tv is wired to Ethernet and phone is on wifi, and while it shouldn’t be an issue according to online troubleshooting. For some reason the connection isn’t stable and requires me to unplug my tv from Ethernet and go wireless.
