Things from the National Museum of Scotland (Patreon)
Content
So, I'm back from my break to Scotland, which was incredibly refreshing, but also quite interesting, thanks to the Museum in Edinburgh.
Here's a few photos I took there, which may well feature in upcoming videos.
Top left is an Apricot F1 Computer, which I plan to cover, along with the other -fruits- of Apricot in a comprehensive video.
Top right is a speak and spell, which isn't that significant, if it wasn't for being near the Parametric Artificial Talker (bottom left) - one of the earliest experiments in synthetic speech. I think that would be a fascinating timeline to cover.
Finally, bottom right, is the alternative limb project. Which is more interesting, than video-material. It's a project that has been running for a while looking into the use of alternative prosthetic limbs, for both aesthetic and useful purposes.
Anyway, Scotland was much colder than England currently is, which was nice. Stirling Castle was also a highlight, as was the Camera Obscura and world of optical illusions, which I last visited about 26 years ago - and it was as excellent now as it was then. I recommend a visit if you're up that way.
For now, back to videos. You can expect some new content shortly.
Ciao.
