Seen as I've covered that Chinese Fei Hao Mega Drive clone, it seemed only fair to take a look at the officially licenced AT Games machine.

I've heard terrible things about this, but I wanted to take a look myself to make sure it wasn't people just jumping on the moan wagon.

So here we are.

AT Games Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Flashback HD | Nostalgia Nerd

Given I've covered the Fei Hao Chinese Mega Drive clone, I thought it was only fair to cover what passes as an official licenced released in the world of Sega; The AT Games Sega Genesis Flashback HD / AT Games Sega Mega Drive Flashback HD. Now this little machine has received some bad press. It's often touted as the Mega Drive Mini or HD Genesis; essentially Sega's answer to the SNES Classic Mini. But, people have criticised everything from its sound, to its clunky menu system. But I'm not one to take what I hear as scripture. I'm going to test this Sega Flashback and find out if it's actually as bad as some people make out. I mean AT Games must surely have learnt by now... surely?

A third alternative, a used mini desktop PC, those go around for like 50€. I did that for me for Christmas and i love it. Add some Euros for bluetooth keyboard, mouse and controller of your choice if you don't happen to have those lying around anyway and off you go. #pcgmr ;)
