If Assange was actively trying to crack passwords, then on one hand I say nail him to the wall for it. But on the other hand, and you have no idea how much it pains me to defend him, I honestly don't think he can get a fair trial in the US, especially if the US plays the "We have evidence showing you did it, but we can't show you the evidence because National Security" card.
