Thanks to the feedback from Patreon supporter John, I'm testing out some new video exports to lower the size of the video file without compromising much quality to help with data caps. The new size is about a quarter of the size of my original exports, so they should download quicker as well. I can only test these on Android so if you're using the Video RSS to watch ThreatWire, please let me know if you find compatibility issues! Here's the link for the video RSS: https://shannonmorse.podbean.com/feed/

YAY! I noticed the smaller size. This week's episode played just fine in VLC on Windows and was less than 300MB. It still looked great as far as I'm concerned. By the way, I wasn't trying to compare the quality between you and TWiT in my initial post. It's just that the vast majority of video podcasts I get are in the TWiT family, so those were the easiest files for me to use for size and data rate comparison. The quality of the shows that you do are definitely on par with the TWiT folks and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I am glad to see this as the Threatwire downloads were double the size of the TekThing for 1/3 the runtime. Thanks for the change

I used to work at TWiT and left for countless reasons, much of which I haven't expressed publicly. FWIW, there's a reason why Hak5 won best tech podcast a couple of years ago. We do top-notch work with 1/8 the crew. :)
