Hey folks! The Discord server is going strong and everyone is incredibly helpful and friendly in the server. I'm having lots of fun joining in the conversation and hanging out with y'all!

Today, I went through and audited the server, since the Patreon Bot doesn't do this automatically. To be clear, the Discord server is for anyone who pledges at $2+ and if you have to cancel, you also lose the "Patron" role in Discord. This signals to me that the pledge was cancelled then I do a monthly audit.

This is the message kicks will receive: "Patreon Pledge Discord Audit. If this is an accidental kick, please use the link here to reconnect: https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/212052266-How-do-I-get-my-Discord-Rewards- "

If you repledge, you can always get access again by reconnecting your Patreon account to Discord. So in the event you lost your Patron role in Discord accidentally, it's easy to reconnect it via the link above.

I'm a new sub to the youtube channel and was interested in listening to the podcast so literally pleged $7 on the 5th June and one day later I'm audited and kicked? find another method, I'm new tro discord as as well and it's literally easier for me to cancel my pledge and consider joining again (if i feel like it) i'm not reading through a tutorial on how to to sign up for something i just signed up for again!

Howdy, since pledges aren't charged until the first of the month, you won't be charged until July. So you're actually getting this month of access for FREE, but since Patreon has no good way to ensure that the Discord is only accessible to paying pledges, unfortunately the only way I can keep it fair to the folks that pay is to audit them. And since Discord names are different than names used on Patreon, I have no way to tell who is who on Discord before going through and auditing the ones the Patreon bot determines as being unpaid. Sorry it affected you that way! I'll share your comment with Patreon in hopes they'll make it more clear.

Thanks for your reply. As i said, i was new to your channel and to this whole process. When Patreon choose to chanrge my account is up to them, i expected to pay on the 5th when I signed up, i wasn't expexcting anything for free. I was just interested in the subject matter. I didn't sign up again but don't take that the wrong way, I enjoy your work. I hope something can be done to make the process more seamless going forward. All the best!

Our account has always been set up so Patrons are charged on the first of the month, but it looks like that's changed to an optional choice long after we started the profile on Patreon.
