Monthly Update! (Patreon)

Hey Patrons! I wanted to give you an update on what's been going on this month:

* I introduced our Discord server and got it set up! It's available for $2/mth+ patrons. If you're new to Discord, follow this link to set it up with your Patreon account: https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/212052266-How-do-I-get-my-Discord-Rewards-

A couple of tips: Set up 2FA on Discord! If you remove your Patreon account or cancel your contribution to ThreatWire, you'll lose access to the Discord as well. The Discord Bot controls this so I can focus on making quality content for you! Mess with your notifications as well. Mine are set to only notify me if someone @'s me, but my DMs are open and I'm in there every day! :)

* I'm hoping to hit 850 patrons this month and you can help! Link out our Patreon page on your favorite social media or share it with someone who'd enjoy the content. We're super close to hitting our next goal and after that, introducing another episode of ThreatWire each week! As always, if you're curious where the contributions go, check out patreon.com/threatwire for a graph showing percentages.

* Higher pledges! Keep your email / subscription current so you receive my hangout invitation each month! This month's hangout will be on the 23rd at 4pm and I'm so excited to chat with y'all again!

*  Hush Puppy patrons! Send in your photos if you've got new ones or if you haven't already! I love seeing new photos of your fur babies!

*  The website and credits are being updated this week! So if you don't see your name where it should be, send me a message here, on Discord, or via email (shannon@hak5.org) and I'll make sure to fix it ASAP.

* Life stuff: MakerFaire Bay Area is this weekend! I'll be going there to report for TekThing and Hak5 and can't wait to share more!

* AusCERT is at the end of the month. I'm not going this year (it's in Australia!) but if you are, expect to see Darren emceeing the event!

* I've been invited to keynote for The Diana Initiative, which is an infosec diversity conference that happens in Caesar's Palace during DEFCON. Read more: https://www.dianainitiative.org/ I'm nervous but excited but amped up but having imposter syndrome all at the same time so wish me luck!

* I'll be visiting New Orleans the first weekend of June!!! I've never been there and am looking forward to some photography, travel, food and music. Have you been there? Do you live there? What do you recommend?
