Roadmap: Embody & Timeline 5 (Patreon)

Hi everyone!

For those who follow me on Discord, you know I've been spending ridiculous amounts of time building Embody, a one stop shop for all possession purposes. It integrates and improves on Improved PoV, Passenger and Snug, adds many new features, automates hands possession and keeps a profile for your height, vive trackers etc. It also includes a wizard that walks you through the major features, and this is what's been preventing a release earlier. I don't have vive trackers myself so I rely on others to feed me whether things work or not, and it slows down development a lot. I might make an early access version without the wizard so you can put your hands on it.

The other thing I've been working on is Timeline integration. The leap motion is amazing, and I really wanted to make sure I could use it in animations. The great news is that it works and it's amazing! This will be part of Timeline 5, along with (hopefully) direct mocap recording, much better curves, and all sorts of other improvements. Maybe even zoom, which is probably the top request (and one of the most complex ones).

So, long story short:

Next month, Embody will be released with or without the wizard.

The month after, i expect Timeline 5 to be released.

I will also release some of the scenes I've been putting on hold for the last months (mostly because I needed Embody and Timeline 5 to finish them!).

Writing plugins is a HUGE amount of work (Timeline has like 15 thousand lines of code in more than a hundred code files and more than a thousand coding sessions, and that excludes reverse engineering vam, debugging, supporting the community, documentation etc.). This wouldn't be possible without you all, this is hugely motivating and I feel like it matters to you like it did to me when I began. Cheers!
