Just an irregular reminder that before we started our Remastered project, new episodes of Lore only came out every other week. That's two weeks apart, with a lonely, unused "off-week" in the middle with no Lore stories. So sad!

But after nearly seven years, I've had to admit that the sound quality of old episodes just isn't up to today's standards. Plus, I've grown as a narrator, and Chad's music is an important part of my vision for each episode.

So if you see a Remastered episode in your app, it’s not us being lazy or recycling "reruns" for ad dollars. It’s literally a top-to-bottom remake of an old, classic episode, released in the "off-week" as a bonus.

What exactly is a Remastered episode of Lore? I open the script from 2015, make a few light edits (if new facts have come to light, or experience tells me a bit of old wording might  need improving). Then I research and write a brand new related story for the end of the episode. And finally, I go into my booth ("booth", by the way, stands for my glorified blanket fort inside my office closet) and record it all, from beginning to end, as if it's a brand new episode.

Then I edit it all from scratch, and score it with Chad Lawson’s music. After that, all the usual launch day prep: export the final files, prep the art, write the new description, and schedule the episode in my hosting account.

What's not different, though? You still get all that extra hard work without ads, unlike the rest of the world. Because you folks are amazing and deserve it.

So when you listen to today's new "Remastered" episode, picture that process...and enjoy!

What a treat to hear these episodes again! I've been a listener since the first season and I would often go back and start from the beginning to accompany my workday. Hearing these familiar stories with a fresh sound has been so lovely!
