Hello, hello!

Last week, I finished the third scene of Chapter 3 and got a headstart in the final one! I think I've said it before, but this scene varies a lot at the end depending on who you want to spend time with, who you're romancing, who doesn't like you very much — but, in all, there's a necessary revelation. I've been brainstorming how to write different variations based on all these factors in the revelation moment.

I usually only write one of the versions in the first draft and finish all the others later but, for this, I'll write all possible scenarios because it makes it so much easier when I'm writing the second draft.

I've been spending a lot of time with Rafael, and it's been so, so good to bring his character to life at last! He's so different from all the others (I hope all the characters are distinct), and I can play around with his responses more because, unlike Hadrian and Alessa, who have known you for some time, or Lance, who is kinda playing chess with you, Rafael has nothing to lose, relationship-wise. Nor is he expecting anything from you — so, his responses are so genuine 😄.

Vallen is still a tough nut to crack, writing-wise. I'm not 100% satisfied with her section in this chapter yet, but that's why it's a first draft. I have a feeling the whole garden ordeal will be the scenes I change most in the second draft. I could tell as I was writing. The feeling, structure, and mood of the scene were captured, however, and that's what I really wanted to settle down.

So, all in all, I'm really happy with how it's going!!!! So far, this is my favorite chapter of book 2.

My hand is cramping from all the handwriting, but I think it's a good pain to have 😊.

I'd love to finish the first draft next week but, with the approaching holidays, I'm not sure how much free time I'll have. In any case, I want to finish the revelation moment and Alessa's conversation afterward - the friendship version and the romance version (with the high-corrupted and low-corrupted versions for each). That's the goal! Reach the almost middle.

I hope your week was good and your weekend even better. I have a cat meowing extremely loud, so I think she deemed it time to play, and who am I to deny her? Take care! 🌹
