Progress Report (Patreon)

So very late!!

I apologize for not posting on Friday or Saturday! I spent so much time working on the Rose that when I finished the sessions, I didn't have any mental energy left.

I'm so glad I sent the updated game link to a couple of people before posting it here because I forgot to add a crucial string of choices/ flavor text for one of the possible paths. I developed this path later after I had finished the chapter — before, it was supposed to be a shorter one, but then I thought: "Why not expand it and merge it with the other ones later?" which is fine, but then, of course, there were some dialogues and passages that didn't make sense — your Romanus would mention trading the gauntlet or the coin when, in fact, they hadn't.

Ah, the perils of adding things later. You forget some choices have ripple effects a bit broader reaching than you had anticipated.

But all the new text is done, and I also fixed a couple of coding bugs that were causing continuity errors. This last part of the chapter has so many conditions and different little texts that it becomes really complex. 😩 I thought I had tested everything myself, but my testers found a couple I didn't get. Those are, too, ironed out now. 😊

But, between all this, I started on Chapter 3!!!!!!! Look at it!

I've written 18 notebook pages already, and, as always, going back to the first draft is probably my favorite part of game development. I adore it! Right now, Romanus is deep in conversation with Hadrian and a familiar face from the last book — and you can finally ask him some questions about that teacher of his from his past.

Alessa and Lance are next, and then, you'll make the choice to either go visit Vallen or witness the lovely reunion of Rafael and Alessa...

But that'll come later!!!

Sorry, again, for the inactivity. My work has been hectic but, finally, two of my colleagues are returning to the office this Friday. So, my life will calm down again. 😊

I'll be posting the Mature story tomorrow or Thursday and the other Bonus story either Monday or Tuesday. And, of course, the update demo is this Friday. Everything before the end of the month!

Halloween is almost upon us! We don't really celebrate it in my country, but I do like to see the buzz online.😄 Do any of you guys celebrate it? I hope your nights are foggy and gloomy, with lone streetlamps and distant cries of hidden ravens. And when you hear the alluring knock of a pale stranger's hand, don't open the door. Don't invite them in. 🧛
