The True End (Patreon)

The rewrite is done!!!!!!

Or, should I say, rewrite and expansion because, by The Golden Rose's God, I added a lot. Today I wrote just over 1k words, thus marking the official end of Chapter One!!!

And while today's word count was small, this last part of the chapter is not. The chapter grew by almost 60k extra words, and I know I've been saying this, but I am so, so happy with how it turned out. It was almost a dream when I closed that Word document 😭. I admit I didn't expect this amount of work when I decided to re-work the end of the chapter  — in fact, one could call me naive with how soon and fast I thought I'd be able to finish it —  but now I can't imagine it any other way. It was absolutely the right decision for the Rose.

I have to take a moment here and thank you guys so much for allowing me to take this extra month to carve my game exactly as I want it to be. If it wasn't for Patreon, and your support, it would have been hard to justify to myself all these extra hours and effort the rewrite entailed. I don't know, I'm being a bit silly, but I really really appreciate your presence ❤️

And I can't wait to share all this hard work!

I'll start coding on Monday — I have around 160 Word pages to edit and translate into code. My aim is to complete 20 pages a day, but I know some parts will take me a bit longer because I want to edit them as thoroughly as I can. The combat scenes, especially, will be deeply worked on, as well as some dialogues that I felt were still a bit raw — sometimes, when I'm getting that first draft out of my head, I write the general idea of what someone is saying and want to convey, but then I have to adapt it to how a character would word this and express themselves. So, Hadrian would construct a sentence in a very different way than Alessa, or Romanus, or Cynthia, etc. These kinds of touches are important when I'm going over the second draft.

But around 20 pages a day is the goal!!!!!!! I just hope you like it. 😭

I'll also be changing and making some adjustments to the already published part of the chapter based on some feedback I got and a few things I noticed. The new link with the complete chapter will be uploaded as soon as I'm done coding. ❤️

I have the rest of the afternoon free, so I think I'll take advantage to read a little bit — are any of you fans of Terry Pratchett? I'm reading his solo work for the first time (Good Omens, however, is one of my favorite books) — drink a cup of coffee, and relax with my pets. I hope you have an amazing weekend!
