When it rains, it pours.

It seems almost unbelievable, but fate has decided not to give me any rest. Or, worst yet, not to give those I care about any rest. This is very hard for me to say, but my father had a seizure on Wednesday night.

I woke up to the worst call of my life, my mother sobbing on the other end. Thankfully, he's recovered completely. The doctors did a plethora of exams on him, but everything came back fine. The neurologist I talked to said that it's rare, but sometimes these things happen out of nowhere for reasons unknown. He still has a neurology appointment, but the doctor said that, as long as it doesn't happen again, there's nothing to be concerned about.

So I'm just praying that it doesn't happen again.

Why am I telling you this? Because I want to be as transparent as possible. This, obviously, put a dent in my writing sessions, although I'm surprised that it wasn't a very big one.

Actually, today I had the day off from my day job — my boss was kind enough to give me the day since I spent all of yesterday at the hospital — and I managed to just finish the second to last scene!!!

Almost 3k words were added. 🥳

This means there's only one more last variation of the chapter!!!! I honestly can't wait for this milestone. I'm missing handwriting so much, I just want to pick up my notebooks again 😄. The goal for next week is to be more than halfway done with this last scene.

I've also been editing some dialogue and adding a few more scenes because I realized there was some interactivity lacking. So far, I'm really happy with the results. Writing character interaction is, after all, one of my favorite things to do, so it's not terribly taxing to go back and add more eheh.

That is all for this week! I know it's a shorter update, but I hope the time we spent here, right at the crossroads, was worth it nonetheless. Now you'll go your way, and I'll go mine, and until we meet again, may Good Fortune carry you in the palm of Her hand. 🌹

Ana, I'm so sorry for what's happening with your family. I'm glad your father and mother are ok. Sometimes the brightest sunshine comes through during our heaviest storms. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Idk how much the words of an internet stranger can mean, but I mean every word. Hang in there Ana. And may the odds be ever in your favor.

I became epileptic out of nowhere when I turned 30. Thankfully it was quickly treated and has been completely stable with medications, fingers crossed its that easy for him too 🤞

I'm sorry to hear you had to go through what I'm sure was a very scary situation. I'm so glad it's under control now! The doctor said they can't speak of epilepsy yet, since this was just one seizure, but it's really relieving to hear that, even if it does end up being epilepsy, then with treatment, it's alright. Thank you for your words ♡
