Essentially SCAR, but uses SKSE instead of papyrus, made by Maxsu.

Features:

- Only for SSE (Skyrim version 1.5.97)

- Completely remade in SKSE, blazing fast speed.

- Now works for any combat target, not just against the player. 

- New gap closing mechanic: NPCs will now pick their first attack animation depending on their distance from the player.

- New minimum and maximum attack range values. Minimum attack distance is now a feature that can be set on a per animation basis manually by animators. NPC only chains if  the distance between the NPC and their combat target is greater than this value, for added realism. For example, swinging two handed weapons are obviously only effective at a certain range compared to the dagger, which is designed for very close quarters.

Installation:

Requires: 

Payload Interpreter, Nemesis Engine, SKSE, Address Library For SKSE Plugins, MCO (ADXP), Payload Interpreter.

Instructions:

0. Not compatible with the Papyrus version of SCAR, so if you have it, use one or the other. I am not responsible for any problems that may arise from uninstalling the Papyrus version mid playthrough, it's safer to either finish that playthrough before using SCAR SKSE or start a new playthrough.


1. Install SCAR SKSE through your mod manager.

2. Run Nemesis Engine (MO2 users launch from within MO2), make sure ADXP, SCAR, and Payload Interpreter patches are checked, along with the patches for any other behaviour mods you have installed. Update Engine, Launch Engine, make sure output is active. Even if you already ran Nemesis for SCAR Papyrus, you will have to rerun it as SCAR SKSE's behaviour files are different.

2.5. If you have any unpatched custom MCO animations, patch them with the SCAR Animation Patcher for SCAR SKSE, or use the default animations that come with SCAR SKSE instead.

3. Play normally.

Notes:

The SKSE plugin is made by Maxsu, who graciously let me host this mod for my patrons to test. So all credits for the implementation for this version goes to him.

This is an early version, not the final release, so be sure to report any bugs you encounter.

The annotations needed for this SKSE version are different from the ones that the Papyrus version uses, so an alternate version of the SCAR patcher for this version specifically will need to be used for SCAR to support custom movesets.

The prepatched animations that were in the mod previously have been removed as some users reported problems with them.

You'll have to patch your own custom animations or the ones that come packed with MCO(ADXP).

- Fixed out of range for ESL error in LOOT.
- Removed prepatched animations that come with SCAR SKSE.

SCAR SKSE

SKSE plugin by Maxsu. Debug overlay (not included in the patron version) by Shrimperator. Player character is naked because Realm of Lorkhan removes all starting items and I'm not going through 10 console commands just to get clothing ^^

When is the scar skse patcher will be ready? so we can use our own animations?

Hi Monitor144hz, Great Mod btw. However, when I ran Loot with this new version, I'm getting a message saying SCAR.esp "This plugin contains records that have FormIDs outside the valid range for an ESL plugin\. Using this plugin will cause irreversible damage to your game saves\" Is this intended? Edit: Changed the ESL flagged to ESP and the error disappeared.

I'll put out a hotfix for this now EDIT: Seems to be some sort of obscure bug because SCAR.esp has only two records and both of them are within the valid range.

My dream finally came true. Thank you for your amazing work, Monitor144hz and Maxsu. Now I can enjoy slaughtering bandits alongside Kaidan with Anchor’s new Katana animations.

If I have the default MCO/ADXP MikeNike's animations, do I need to run the patcher?

Yes, only the ones included in SCAR SKSE are prepatched. Every other animation must be patched.
