She was part of a cult and with her misguided faith she became the main enforcer, primarily behind mass murders in the name of their dark God gaining her the name: "Redmane", kinda like how Kenshin Himura is Battosai. Before she could realize that she's merely a tool for their cause, the cult sacrificed Zoe's husband to call on a power to completely break her spirit, to turn her into a mindless killing machine....but her will endured and she turned her wrath towards the cult. Unable to completely rid herself of the cult's influence she lost her will to live and considered ending her own life, but fate would not allow it. She met a strange man(The Proprietor) at the most opportune moment and he said "I can take away all of your suffering, all of your pain.... for a price"
