Clocking in at just over 61k words, the first draft of the Interlude is finally complete!

Over the next week, I'll be giving it an edit, running through the whole thing and cleaning up any errors I find, hopefully trimming away some excess fat and adding to bits that need a little development.  There's still some stuff I'd like to squeeze in (a scene about Jeremiah Steele, for example), but we'll see how it goes.

In writing up some of the stuff near the end of the scene (such as the nightmare) I went looking back over older chapters--stuff I wrote over ten (!) years ago, and the first Interlude, and more recent chapters, and... wow, it's a bit of a mess.

As I've fleshed out backstory and indulged in a bit of worldbuilding, it's created a lot of inconsistencies with the original run of chapters.  It's going to be some work cleaning all that up.

In the meantime, the first step is to polish off the Interlude.  I'll get that done, maybe let it sit a few days or maybe a week, and then start publishing it to the usual sites.  Probably take a little break, or tackle something else--and then onwards to Chapter 6!

Thanks for your patience and support through this long delayed chapter!
