Checking in on TGStorytime this morning to see whether the last part of chapter five had gone live or not, I started to think about the length of "Book 2".

Book one came in at about 106k words, according to the word count on TGS. Book two, up to the end of chapter 5, comes in at 92k. Word tells me that the Interlude is 71k, and chapter 6 is already nearly 39k. By these numbers, a very rough estimate suggests that "Book 2" would finish at something like 300k words in length, which is a bit nuts.

So I starting thinking that it might make sense to "repackage" Constant into more digestible chunks. Book 1, which includes the first ten chapters; Book 2, which would include chapters 1-5 + the interlude broken into three chapters; and Book 3, which would be chapter 6 through to the end (which I still hope to hit by the close of 2024).

That would make for a nice, neat trilogy, I think.

What are people's thoughts?

Fakeminsk TG Fiction: Constant in All Other Things

Thanks for the feedback! I've gone with the triology approach - if you check TGS, you can see the first part of the Interlude posted as chapter 6. A pity I didn't start posting it as a series; I don't think it's possible to switch it over.
