Fanart contest (Patreon)

In the latest public chapter of Silhouette on Royal Road, I launched a fanart contest - both for my readers to use their creativity and to potentially find an artist to work with to provide illustrations for the story's various characters.

Winners aren't guaranteed to be the ones chosen IF anyone is chosen among the readers, so don't worry about it and just have fun!

HERE ARE THE RULES! - straight from the author note on Royal Road.

Number one, every form of visual still ar is welcomed. Hand-drawn, cartoon, manga, realistic, 2D, 3D, pixel art... No matter how extreme the style is, it has its place here!

Number two, you must own every asset used in your art piece or use copyright-free assets. We want your art skills, not someone else's!

Number three, you must send me your fanart via private message on the 22nd of May at the latest. Anything after that I can't guarantee to put in the contest. The votes will be closed the next Sunday. As the format sent, do note that Royal Road pictures work via Imgur, so if you have an Imgur account directly send me a link, and if you don't tell me so that I can set up a private post.

Number four, although you may send as many pieces as you wish only one will win. If you make both first and second place, only the first one will count.

Number five, you may only represent a named character and/or location that has appeared in the public chapters. No backlog character, random thug drawing, or OC, but other than that you're free to go nuts. James, the ratlings, Polisson, Sarah, Soluble, Malania, Project Null, Techlord...

There will be distinct three winners, one selected by a public poll at the end of chapter 51, one selected by patrons, and the last one by myself. The votes will be open from the 23rd to the 29th, at which point they will be closed and you will be able to vote for multiple fanarts.

All three winners will be offered the chance of making a character that will appear in story - although the submitted fanart can't be of the character you plan to make, you're free to prepare something to show me if you win.

Of course, due to the Patreon backlog thing and setting - we wouldn't to waste an awesome space wizard on the slums arc - the characters may not appear for a while, though I promise they will do so and may even become recurring characters if they're popular/fitting enough.

I will gladly take the time to discuss with you about the characters, their motivation, their way of speaking, their moral compass, their backstories, and all of that, but do remember there is a very likely possibility we live in different timezones and communication may be slow, as well as the fact that I have characters planned for this story and I'd like to avoid redundancies, so if your character is too similar to one that is planned I will tell you so and let you make another character.
