I've been working on a lot of new items, both for the game and for art in general. Things like better clothing and liquid physics, new blonde characters, animation, and interactive environments in game.
The first One Shot is now completed with 27 pages total and it was received by people very well. Voting for the second series is going to start today.
I've been working on more CK script as quite a lot of different things will be happening. I mentioned many months ago about adding some combat and conflict to the story and that will be upon us shortly. This involves new characters, new environments, liquids for blood, new lighting. A lot of work and it's been a hectic pace with the game development on top.
The second internal Alpha test for the Darklord Universe game has completed and was very successful. I'm actually surprised there were no new bugs found although I did spend a lot of time squashing the ones I found before starting the test phase. I think it's time so share some screenshots since the game flow is solid and probably won't change. A lot of the art, particularly the icons, are all temporary placeholder for now.
Here's a screenshot of the Crew Management screen which also functions as your inventory. You represent an organization in the game and equip new people to your Crew as you unlock them in game. You gain items and loot as you play the game and equip them to your Crew and thereby increase your skills and abilities which let you perform more actions in game. A basic way to think of an example action would be to persuade a girl to go home with you, or give you a favor, etc.
Another important screen is the Story Chapters from which you navigate the available story chapters on a per-character basis. They are similar to episodes in a show or a single issue of a comic. They are not necessarily linear and not all are required to complete, so that you may enjoy the characters or stories you enjoy most without having to grind on things you don't enjoy. The branching and combining of characters and other stories will be important.
Next is an in-game shot, visual novel presentation with narration. The Darklord Universe game is starting fresh with every story, including Christian Knockers, and it's not just a retelling of the same story, it's a fresh reboot. You don't play as The Order, you play as a competing organization seeking to corrupt or control characters in the story (both male and female). So the first story chapter I'm working on is for Maggie and you can see her starting out on her new adventure...
...and as in the original CK she meets Carl Jones, but this time it will be a little different (or maybe a lot depending upon how you play it).
Next major additions to the game play are high quality animations in the story mode plus interactive environments.
