I don't know if you can tell, but the quality is certainly not as good as my normal pics, which use IRAY (a very good rendering method). I could improve the quality in Unity, but it would never reach that of IRAY.
The second, but main problem I have is with the time it takes to work in Unity with the DAZ models. I modify the base DAZ models which also makes it harder to work with in Unity. There are multiple pieces stitched together and sitting on top of each other, and while it works well in DAZ it does not work well in Unity. The best way would be to create models from scratch specifically for Unity. Not an easy task and very very time consuming.
Overall this was a good test for me and let me see these issues. My next idea will be using 2D images and animations inside 3D environments in Unity. The 2D images would be rendered with full quality IRAY in DAZ and then I can postfx them as well so I get my usual full control over the finished product. Then I composite them inside Unity. Still challenging, but less time consuming then full 3D and allows for much better quality.
I think the first demo will be for the Darklord Universe Character Portfolios. Originally we were going to just have bio pics and some text, but I have some fun ideas to make it interactive fun and could lead to another game where the rewards would unlock more character bios and show evolution of the characters. For example, innocent Maggie leading to BBC slut Maggie, leading to Order lieutenant, and so on. Also the potential for alternate outfits and even sex positions and dioramas.
