Our wonderful Miss Dellaney, in Slack, came up with a great idea of hosting a penpal program. If you are interested in joining please let her and me know via Slack. The first attempt of it seemed wildly successful and fun. Here are her rules below:

Every month, you will be randomly assigned to a group of three or four other Pen Pals.  You write one letter for each of the other Pen Pals in your group, and send it off to them!  Then you get their letters in return!

The groups will change every month, so you'll get to send and receive letters from many different Pen Pals over the months!

There are deadlines.  Letters must be shipped by the end of the first week of the month.  Groups will be announced two weeks before that date, though, so you will have plenty of time to prepare and get your letters made and sent!  And these dates - as well as the groups and relevant information, will always be available to you.

To be able to join #PenPals, though, you will have to follow some rules. Participating in the ISE Pen Pal Initiative requires a certain level of trust and maturity. To keep this a safe, fun environment the following rules must be followed.

1. Be respectful. Don't forget that on the other end of your letter is another person.

2. We're all here to send letters to our pen pals. Small inclusions are acceptable, however a letter is sufficient.

3. The information within this channel, the address list & the mail received should be treated as sensitive. None of the information gathered should be disseminated in any way outside of its intended purpose within the channel.

4. Keep it clean.

5. Steer clear of religious/political stuff. What may seem innocuous to you could be offensive or upsetting to your pen pal. Always err on the side of caution.

6. Before sending anything, check that all relevant customs regulations have been adhered to, and the correct postage has been paid. If you're unsure, check missdellaney's postage guide for assistance.
