Behind the Scenes #44 (Patreon)

DunDip. I tried a few times to play some sort of D&D on stream but it was very challenging. One day, inspired by Ai Dungeon, I came up with this text based sort of D&D thing. I involved a few friends, set up a Discord server and actually wrote new rules and made an entire database of spells, skills and items. There were no hit points (too hard to keep track of), instead everything was mostly narrative but that doesn't mean characters were immortal. I also wanted patrons to interfere and brought the vote system back, even if just for a few instances. The comic was the most accurate transposition of the rp adventure we were having together. It was truly fun but exhausting. Color comics are no joke and it was very hard, if not impossible, to keep up with the regular schedule with this on the side and also being the DM of the campaign. It was also taking (as usual) a lot of time. That mini dungeon was supposed to be the tutorial and we never got that part done. Due to a series of reasons I decided to scrap the project. I'd love to try something similar again but, just like college student, unpredictable choices make it all the more challenging. Having no end goal makes it very hard to stay motivated all the time, too.
