Leonard's origins.

From the very first pages of Diaper Quest: Next we can see the tiny owl Leonard carrying a letter.

A lot of people pointed out it had to be a Harry Potter reference, and it is, but it's kinda weird. So, to begin with, Leonard makes an appearance as a silly bird at the very end of the first Diaper Quest, and that's because at the time I recently came back from camping, and there was an annoying bird that waited for me to go back to sleep to start singing. I never slept and I hated it with burning passion. Even throwing rocks wouldn't stop him from coming back a few seconds later and sing with that annoying "CHUU!".

I actually have footage of that.  https://youtu.be/3xO6I2658dI

Anyway, the chirping bastard gave me the inspiration to make Leonard Dew's animal companion and that's the reason he keeps chuuing over people's sentences and has that sort of "retarded" look. Leonard ended up being a cute character though. As far as the name goes, that is actually a weird Harry Potter reference. In the book Ron gets a tiny, annoying owl as a gift from Sirius, named Pigwidgeon (the movies cut that part out). This was Translated as "Leotordo" in Italian and in the book he ends up naming it "Leo". So that's where Leonard's name and design come from. Chuu!

I always thought every hero should have a goofy animal companion. Whether you're solving mysteries like Scooby Doo or slaying Gods in the classic Clash of The Titans. It brings in a wild factor that nobody can really predict.

Weird how a bird that pisses him off on a camping trip become Dew's bird pet, sketch gets ideas from odd places
