How do you browse comics on Patreon? (Patreon)
Content
For all new users that have joined recently and want to catch up with comics without the need of going through all the posts from the past months, you can use this useful feature. The tag filter option appears only when "Posts" is selected in the top browsing menu while visiting this profile's page. Also notice that Patreon will let me feature only 5 tags at a time, I've chosen to go with "YDW sketches" "animations" "complete" and two comic tags. If you believe there's a better tag arrangement, I'd be happy to learn about your opinion.
Every single post has been tagged on creation. Here's a brief description for the most common ones:
- <complete> It means it's a finished work, like a page of a comic, a commission or a whole animation. Small animation segments are still considered work in progress.
- <work in progress> self explanatory. I have tagged small colored animation clips with this tag too if they are part of a bigger project (like the Annie ones)
- <*name of a comic*> the complete pages of that specific comic. I used to include the WIP pages but I have decided to not include them anymore a few months ago for a better, seamless reading experience.
- <animation> since they are more rare and differ from static images, I use this tag for both WIP and full animations.
- <download> a post that includes an archive download link or an attachment to the post itself, usually for complete comic pages collections or yearly archives.
- <promo> these are posts that are visible to every patron (usually 1$ tiers cannot see artwork related posts)
There you go, I hope that this post was helpful for at least some of you. Have a nice day :)
