Sup Jerks!

We're back with another episode of the Live Action ATLA and we finally get to OMASHU!

Some of the condensing of storylines becomes WAY more apparent as we can see with the inclusion of Jet, the Mechanist, and the intro to one of the great Earth Kingdom cities!

It's all relatively fluid, even if we're a bit murky on Jet's final methodology for trying to assassinate Bumi, but more on him next week!

But there's a lot to love, we get some good stuff with Katara, but how many times are we gonna see Kya get COMPLETELY ROASTED?! Jesus!

Speaking of that, all of the expanded Fire-Nation stuff is great and some sister's driven crazy by her Dad's Succession level trolling, just wanna see the world burn.

Omg Azula with the Mole reveal was so brutal.

Jet and his crew work really nicely and they seem straight out of the show!

And holy hell do we love the old-school Jackie Chan Drunken Master-esque send-up fight between Zuko and Aang that perfectly captures that playful, soft-dunking on Zuko as he flys into a teenage cringe rage!

So funny, effortless, and a strong finish for the episode!

How are you guys digging it? We're sorta loving the changes!

I am loving the expanded Fire Nation stuff - particularly bringing in Azula now and giving a new twist on her character motivations with the idea that Zuko might win his way back into Ozai's good graces. Zhao having a more complex role -- pretending to be on Zuko's side and now getting involved with the royal family's intrigue -- is an interesting change from the open animosity between Zhao and Zuko in the original. Tying the Mechanist and Jet stories together to have a collaborator vs extremist conflict was a cool bit of combining and condensing things as well. Overall, I'm enjoying it. I guess my only hangup is that, while they are doing a really solid job of making a darker, live-action, 8-episode season adaptation of AtLA . . . I'm not quite sure why that was a job to do in the first place. Unless someone is adamant about never watching cartoons, I can't really see myself recommending this over the original to anyone.

I'm pretty mixed bag here on this show because there's a lot I like and don't like. Both ways. But what I don't like about katarra's character is that she seems to learn because.... The male characters tell her what to think? First Aang then Jet? I hope it doesn't continue that way as the series goes on. It's not really internal for her like it was in the OG, it's like she's relying on the male characters? It's kinda rubbing me the wrong way.

I am having a blast with this series. And I adore this cast.
