I started watching this show on max after it originally aired. When I finished this episode I took like 2 weeks off from the series 😂

Sorry Angel! I take no joy in your tears here but you are now truly ONE OF US! ONE OF US!, this episode is like a GoT fan rite of passage. GRRM is unwell. I think the Red Wedding in this is actually more brutal because of the performances and changes made in the adaption to screen. In the books Talisa (Jeyne Westerling in the books) isn't killed but presumed alive and held as a hostage, 'possibly' pregnant with Two-B's child. Catelyn does die in this scene but her story doesn't end here in the books. They would need a whole storyline, in an additional season to show Catelyn's fate. It is one of the nice things about reading the books; you get more. That being said I still think this was brutal but economical story telling the way Dave and Dan adapted it. I have read/seen it so many times I have no tears left but it still hurts. I really dug how they show Bran's warging and the wilding (Orell) as well. It is different in the books in that Orell had multiple animal companions that he warged into depending on what role he needed, and he was killed in the fight where Jon is captured by the wilding with the Half-hand. When Orell dies he is inhabiting one of his animals when his body dies but is still possessing those animals and follow watching Jon Snow iirc. There was a cool prologue or chapter in the books from the point of view of his dwindling consciousness inside his animal as hos control starts to wain and his final death is coming for him essentially. It is just a cool lore thing from the books that they couldn't fit in the show but as a big ol nerd, I love that shit.

Welcome to Game Of Thrones Angel! One of the most iconic episodes of tv history. Even I had tears roll down my face watching this episode again. There is so much more to come and I can't wait to see more reactions.

This is the first episode my dad watched. He was staying at a hotel with HBO and had happened to catch the premiere of of it. He was like "WHY didn't you tell me about this show???" He went back, bought all of the seasons on DVD and started his binge with my mom. Then we started watching the new ones together and bonded as a family with a show about incest, rape and murder.
