HEY YALL!

We just wanted to test the waters with everyone on how they feel about our next picks coming through! Also, shout your suggestions in the comments for stuff in the future.

Obvi, JJK seems like a good move just for the algorithm at the moment since its releasing S2 and there'd be only 40ish eps! This Poll will sorta help determine the order as well!

So fire off with what yall are thinking and hit us with any more requests you might have!

Thanks again, and so excited to see what yall think!

xoxo,

The Watchers in the Bar

Thicc Thanos

My personal ranking for the order I would like: 1. JJK 2. Cowboy Bebop 3. MHA 4. Gravity Falls

GB3

Time to be that guy and suggestion something not on the poll but Vinland saga would be amazing for this channel

TrixieTurner

I get that jjk is the smart move since it's shorter and coming out right now bit I gotta stick with my guns my hero is my favorite of all these.

Smash Bran'Discootch

These are all really good choices, but My Hero Academia is the highest quality show by just a little bit.

Peter Shim

JJK is the more popular anime right now but honestly I think ur vibe just matches with Cowboy Bebop so perfectly so I hope ya'll give it a shot later even if it doesn't win. It's a classic and no ones done noir in anime as well since.

Zachery Gaskins

The Expanse. Kind of a long shot but it's *really* good.

makotheQ60

Demon slayer

Jam

Gravity Falls is too much fun for me to not vote for.

Robert Kyle Florence

Cowboy Bebop is more western inspired, so the vibe may fit for you all more with its jazzy bluesy noir feel without too many of the usual anime tropes. Though I get why JJK would help the algorithm as it’s one of the most popular Shonen Jump series out right now.

Anto

My Hero Academia is extremely long, I don't think it's comparable to the amount of time invested in other shows like JJK. And my suggestion is Banana Fish, it's one of my favorite shows, a really good drama with fantastic animation and it's pretty short.

Anto

Didn't think about that. They'll definitely enjoy Vinland and it's really popular now as S2 was freaking amazing.

Rich

MHA would be fun just to see them have to deal with Pre-s3 Bakugo and Every-Season-Mineta all the time Gotta vote JJK for quality though

rrrebo

Vinland Saga is boring and kinda trash. I hated the story. JJK makes the most sense, and is also awesome, and Cowboy Bebop is the avant-garde abstract beatnik jazz of anime, and I think they would love it.

rrrebo

Bleah. Beautifully drawn, bad story. Lost interest after watching almost all of S1. Not saying people shouldn't like it, but it just didn't ever hit for me.

James Long

Gotta go with Cowboy Bebop.

Andrew Coleman

Definitely Cowboy Bebop. Fun little kitbash of western and noir (in space!) backed by a shockingly good jazz soundtrack. Some will insist on the subbed version, but I really like the dub due to Steve Blum voicing Spike. It won't juice the view counts like watching any of the insanely popular shonen series (like MHA, JJK, One Piece, etc...), though. (If you do end up watching and liking Bebop, you might also enjoy Samurai Champloo and Space Dandy, as they're by the same director, and they're all fun in their own ways.)

Robert Kyle Florence

Ah, Samurai Champloo is one of my fav series and Space Dandy was quite the ride too. Shinichiro Watanabe and Chad Stahelski (John Wick director) are working together on a new anime series.

Lanie Williams

Cowboy Bebop! 🤞🏼It’s a classic, hand drawn cels, amazing eclectic music, great action and characters. And more importantly just 26 episodes and a movie, and done, no dragging this out. More ppl need to watch 90s anime even if this is the tail end of that era.

Thicc Thanos

If we’re talking 90s anime then they should also watch the granddaddy Evangelion…

april 🍏

I think you guys would really vibe with Cowboy Bebop

ManicMeeks

This is a hard choice. I picked JJK because it newer, but Cowboy Bebop is a CLASSIC. It's one of my favorite animes of all time. Gungrave, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai 7, Samurai Champloo, and FMAB....just to let you know what some of my favorites are.

Andrew Coleman

I'm cautiously optimistic about Lazarus. Went down a bit of an IMDB rabbit hole looking up the name of the Blade Runner short Watanabe did for BR2049 and discovered he'd also directed Macross Plus. Haven't seen that one in ages, but IIRC it was better than it had any right to be.

Lanie Williams

If Cowboy gets the vote I really hope they do the dub as well. There is just a few good dubs out there and this one is at the top.

James Long

Wanted to note, if you end up doing Cowboy Bebop, the English audio is the one to go with. Many consider it to be one of the best. Just saw the part about possible requests, here are a few if you haven't seen them: Over the Garden Wall, Castlevania, and Naoki Urasawa's Monster.

Pan Mojadito

Cowboy bebop is legit at the top of anime. JJK is just Walmart Naruto

Andrew Coleman

I love how Steve Blum can be so expressive without having to be over the top, and it works so well in a show like Bebop. In a show like Kill la Kill (where literally every part of it was dialed up to 11) it wouldn't have worked, which is why that dub felt incredibly uneven compared to the original performances (The VA dubbing Mako nailed it, but the rest of the cast was all over the map.)

Thicc Thanos

So since Cowboy Bebop is in the lead on the poll… for the love of ever loving fuck, for all that is holy, please do the English dub. It is literally the best, most iconic dub of all time.

Ewasabi316

What is this list🤣 three anime’s and then gravity fall?

Jonathan Gonzalez

It’s between JJK and Cowboy beebop. JJK is one of the best new gen anime (ride the algorithm). Cowboy beebop is a classic that has a style I think you guys would like. Side note to Vinland saga which also has a really nice story line and is only 2 seasons at the moment. I also just saw someone mention Castlevania and second that.

Brandon Rohrbacker

You guys need to do Ted Lasso and Barry reactions

Andrew Coleman

As someone who watched Evangelion as it was first released in the US (back when you had to buy it on VHS at Suncoast Video), as well as End of Evangelion, and also really really wanted to like the Rebuild movies, I just can't with that series anymore. I fully understand how groundbreaking and important it was for its time, but it, just,.... yeah. (I finally just gave up on the property when the credits rolled at the end of the awkwardly named "3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time".) If anyone wants to watch a Mecha anime by Gainax made by quite a few staffers from the Evangelion crew (minus Anno, of course), I'd suggest Gurren Laggan instead. There's way more stupidly awesome action and ridiculously giddy enjoyment to be found in that show. (Oh, and "Cruel Angel Thesis" is a mid-AF theme song. There. I said it)

Calvin Delaney

Cowboy Beebop will probably be something you guys love, I think JJK has good battles and fights but really is not fantastic at telling stories! which I think you guys like both.

Rime Pendragon

Cowboy Bebop English dub please.

rrrebo

This was my dilemma as well. JJK would probably do better on the channel, but Cowboy Bebop (the show AND the music) just SLAPS!

Matt Daye

English Dub for Cowboy Beebop is THE essential way honestly, fantastic performances . And importantly it ENDS and it has a kickass movie you can watch after the series too so it's an easy extra addon of content for everyone. Its a funny show with a crew of loveable asholes, mostly episodic with some good nuggets deeper story thrown in, and amazing music and that crisp hand drawn animation made with a love for old school sci fi and jazz. Totally a good fit for you folks!

Tope

I think y’all would really enjoy Cowboy Bebop the most. And although I enjoy JJK and understand it as an algo pick, I actually think you would have a more fun time with MHA over it.

Peter Shim

This poll looks like anime only but second this! Expanse is a goated scifi show to react to, plus all the allegory to the class struggles/politics would make for some spicy commentary

Peter Shim

Just described my childhood with all those anime, take me back!!

I'm absolutely shocked that cowboy bebop is crushing JJK

rrrebo

As am I, but I'm also not disappointed. And I begrudgingly voted for JJK over CB, but it was more of what I thought would perform better on their channel overall. CB is not for everyone, but I loved it and I am stoked for them to watch it!

ManicMeeks

Yes I have! It's a family movie for us. We watched it all the time.

Robert Kyle Florence

Love that film along with Yojimbo, Sanjuro, RAN etc, but I always felt like the director Kobayashi should be mentioned just like Kurosawa as he’s not as well known because I personally loved Harakiri and Samurai Rebellion, but they’re definitely not as hopeful plus Nakadai is as phenomenal of an actor as Mifune if you ask me. I love Samurai Champloo as well, I feel like that series needs more love too, damn it. 😆

Ducky

Watch out, they might pull a fast one on us and watch the live action Cowboy Bebop.

Ducky

Monster was what got me out of generic shonen anime and into a wider variety of genres and themes. One of my all time favourites.

I think it would be right up their ally! Also it would be a nice change of pace for them to watch something with an adults as the main characters and not children haha.

"Once upon a time, in New York City in 1941... at this club open to all comers to play, night after night, at a club named "Minston's Play House" in Harlem, they play jazz sessions competing with each other. Young jazz men with a new sense are gathering. At last they created a new genre itself. They are sick and tired of the conventional fixed style jazz. They're eager to play jazz more freely as they wish then... in 2071 in the universe... The bounty hunters, who are gathering in the spaceship "BEBOP", will play freely without fear of risky things. They must create new dreams and films by breaking traditional styles. The work, which becomes a new genre itself, will be called... COWBOY BEBOP"

My vote goes to JJK just because the first part of s2 just ended and it was really good, the best currently airing anime in my opinion. First season is very fun and beautifully animated so I think you will enjoy it but there is also a phenomenal jump in quality in s2 (both animation and storytelling). I also read the manga so I know what’s coming in s2 and it’s gonna be hype for sure.

Cowboy Bebop !!!! 🤟🤟🤟
