Sup Jerks!

We're here at the finale of Season 3 and it's a fucking SCORCHER & y'all never told us how sad this one ended!

Holy Lord this thing has some incredible moments.

Great action beats. Some suspenseful scenes.

And our main character in a wheel-chair rocking a classic SINGLE TEAR!?!

WTF!?

We honestly love it cause it naturally leads into some true interconnectivity the story leading into the final season and we are stoked as well to see where this thing goes!

RIP Ghazan and Ming-Hua, if only we knew ya. Why are they willing enough to kill off world leaders? I don’t know. I don’t like the sock In Zaheer’s mouth. This book is my second to last favorite season. It has some great action scenes, I’ll give it that and that’s it.

Lorenzo Baxter

If you don't know why they were willing to kill world leaders, you must've missed the whole season. They're Anarchists. Simple as that. They have the same beliefs as Zaheer. It would have been cool to see their own stories and how they arrived at this mindset, but we don't live in that timeline. The season has much more than "great action scenes".

I was not going to stop being a Patron because i love you guys, Sean is so infectious, Dustin is a fashion Icon and just really Effin smart and all of you especially Morgan and Millie have been so good to me for a long time but like honestly Sean, DEATH NOTE has solidified my money being yours for another 36 weeks lmao

Jam

That end song gets me teary eyed every time.

Katelyn

Did something happen to them with their backstories like P’Li? It’s all speculation with Ghazan and Ming-Hua aka two blank slates. I don’t give a damn about them. The Red Lotus is not my favorite villains. And yes I think this season has great action scenes and that’s it. It’s my opinion and I’m going to stick to it.

Amit

Death note is a perfect series for reactions I’m excited

Jackie

The ending always gets me. She is definitely not okay, physically and emotionally. Ans Jinora’s master ceremony is so sweet as well.

Mr. Toastman

Whatever you guys see happen at the end of season 4 is exactly what you think is happening. Do not second guess yourselves 😂

Michelle

DEATH NOTE? Oh man, thats gonna be great. One of the best thriller animes ever. I'm gonna love seeing u guys go through it. Especially Morgan because of all the, ahem, gay moments lol. And woah what a wonderful, but sad finale for this season of Korra..

SuperDuprEgg

you guys should watch the trailer for season 3 now its so hype

Lorenzo Baxter

Good for you. But on a factual level there's way better things in the season than fight scenes.

Lorenzo Baxter

So the reason Korra was crying was because of a character driven reason that has been a part of Korra since season 1. From the first season, every villain she's faced has tried to take away her being the avatar, and Korras identity, especially in the earlier seasons, is all around her being the avatar. Remember how depressed she got when she lost her bending? She was over a cliff, considering suicide. Cause who is she without her ability as the avatar? In season 2, Unalaq took away what MADE her the Avatar. Not to mention, he left a permanent mark which is she is no longer connected to her past lives. Now in season 3, once again, a villain is trying to take away her being the avatar. But this time, to completely end the avatar cycle. He didn't kill her, but he came fucking close. Zaheer kind of won. He was the straw that broke her back. Now she is physically unable to do her job. At the end, when Tenzin said the Air Nation would help Korra and travel the world to keep the peace, Korra heard something different. What Tenzin essentially said to Korra is "Since the Avatar can't do her job, we are going to do it for her." So now Korra is left in a wheelchair, utterly defeated in her soul, and her identity is taken. She can't be the avatar right now. That, to her, is everything. It's so sad seeing our girl like this. But proof of this is when she was poisoned and started to hallucinate. All her past villains showed up, one by one. Amon told her "the world doesn't need you anymore" Unalaq said "The time of the Avatar is over, Korra. Give up." And Vaatu said to "Let Go." All things the real villains told her. All things she fears. That she's not needed. That she serves no more purpose. That she is weak. Thats some Spider-Man 2 Peter Parker Identity Crisis shit. Hits hella hard. See you guys in season 4!!

botchie

will there be aot today? im sorry if it was said somewhere

Deiondre0

Correct me if Im wrong but Season 3 was the first time the writers actually knew they were getting another season as they were writing the finale. This of course explains the decision to give an extremely bittersweet ending scene which would tie into next season

Tim Chaos

Looking forward to Death Note! You guys will get a kick out of it

One thing that's unfortunate with the shorter season and the cancellation/renewal limbo, is that we get so little exploration of the ideologies presented in the show. The formula is extremism bad - beat the villains - next. They kind of address it in the next season.

Ci-Ci

I heard we are getting a Kyoshi movie, then Zuko, and finally a Korra movie from avatar studios! I have read the kyoshi novel and based on that I think the kyoshi movie would be really cool 😎 And always excited for more zuko and Korra.

Ci-Ci

Also this season and next season are my favorite of korra. I think I might like season four just a hair more but I consider them a package deal. Korras character development is just so great in season 4 :) I love the more adult emotional themes they explore with her and the aftermath of what she goes through in season 3

John Cedar

The blend of 2d with 3d for some of the action in this ep was really inspiring as an artist, it really lent a bigger and more cohesive feeling to the world of the animation that I wasn't at all used to back when this aired. That's one of the things they really improved and experimented with since ATLA.

Sky Sirak

How are you guys doing at the bar doing tonight? I wanted to drop in and say thank you for the consistently awesome content, and the fact that you making us laugh is doing greater things than you know. Ever since the dumpsterfire madness of 2020, it's been nice to keep coming here to get away. Involuntarily, I find myself doing the same thing tonight, after having left my job early because Roe v Wade just got overturned and I can't anymore, i just can't. I'm tired and terrified and this has been the best distraction and fleeting therapy that I needed rn. So sincerely...thank you.

Brimmy

why is everyone starting death note @.@ oh well least i'll have stuff to binge in the future S3 focuses less on korra and more on other things which is where i started to like it but was still annoyed with korra S4 erases all of that for reasons u guys will see

Zecxel

aot coming out today?

Jenny D

How did I know Mo would be the first of them?

Jenny D

And remember that it aired in 2014. I’ve seen a lot of reactors these last couple years who were disappointed, but things were very different in 2014.

Jenny D

I know we’re still a few months away from this show ending, but since you mentioned it in the discussion I just wanna suggest She-ra and the Princesses of Power as the next show! I think it would be an excellent follow up for ATLA and Korra because there’s some similar themes, but there’s also some subversions as well! Plus the main character reminds me a lot of Korra, but without any of her anger issues! Also there aren’t nearly enough She-ra reactions out there and it’s such a great show!

Christiana Phillips

Avatar the Last Airbender is about a kid who learns to become the Avatar. The Legend of Korra is about an avatar who has to learn to be human. In the beginning, she's very cocky, and headstrong, and refuses to listen to anyone - because she's -the avatar-. You can see how that is starting to shift, especially with this last episode. Whereas Aang always ran away from being the avatar, it's not something he ever wanted for himself.

Emi

I kind of want them to react to vampire diaries

Mathies

I wanna start off by saying it's a beautiful gesture by Tenzin and the Airnation to take her place as balance seekers, but it's also the first time that it's a friend that tells her the Avatar isn't needed anymore. it's always been her enemies, and yeah that sucks but I think she can deal with that. For Korra, who based her whole personality about being the Avatar, being replacable is her biggest nightmare. Aslong as her friends were still telling her she was needed, it was okay. Now, Tenzin unintentionally hurt her by saying that. Still though, the fact is she needed to be replaced which really proves how important she still is, even if she doesn't realise it.

I Did the iggy

For the next season: Really pay attention to the army's haircuts.

Briana J

I felt absolutely horrible for Korra but I cried seeing Jinora.

rickie woodson

finale episode. now the long wait for season 4 begins

rickie woodson

i would like to know as well. i assume it has to do with real life references (i know what ancient japanese, chinese and korean hairstyles were like for different castes/classes) but never really noticed anything in korra

witz

anyone know if LOK is coming out this weekend, or not til next thurs ?

frnknstndrgqn

I always get emotional at the end scene with Jinora because she looks so much like Aang. and at least through Korra I like to think that aang's spirit saw how the air nation was finally reborn. Poor korra I just wanna give her a hug

ImSarahTonin

I always tear up when they reveal her with all her tattoos. She looks just like Aang 💜

Yes, I think this season was really solid. Among other things, seeing all these top-tier benders go at it was amazing, though it did bother me how good Zaheer was at airbending from the jump. I get that in his younger days he was basically a student of Air Nomad philosophy and fighting styles minus the actual ability to manipulate Air, but not one struggle or mistake with his new-found powers ever and practically owning every opponent he faced? Not a fan. But what I really wanted to bring up, was whether y’all noticed the call back to the season’s beginning in the final fights of the main four Red Lotus members. Did you catch that they each started in prisons designed to counteract their bending but then were all taken out by a concentration/abundance of their own elements?! P’Li literally Fire/Combustion-Bent her own head off 🤯🔥, Ming-Hua ostensibly died [when she was sure she would win] because she was connected to all that electricity-conducting water ⚡️💧, Ghazan fully Earth/Lavabent an entire cave down on his own head 🌋🪨, and Zaheer was being pulled out of the sky by Jinora’s Airbending-Master final exam: “Tornado-Teamwork” 🌪🕴! A really cool detail imo!
