im gonna echo your sentiment at the end there sean, which i know when the YT edit drops the fanboys are gonna tear you up about it, again. But yeah this show was.. bad. And I didnt wanna say it cause i dont wanna be a debbie downer and i know yall love star wars but, man this just did not hit the way it was tryin to. i really hope the other star wars show dont do this thing where its less a coherent narrative in so much as a sandbox for star wars toys to be in and do cool stuff. like dont get me wrong, the fanservice and cool shit is exciting and im sure the people that are into that are having a great time and thats great but, as a narrative if its own, this aint how you do it.

Yeah and I, a literal lifelong SW fan, am definitely NOT looking for the smoke and want all the stuff I watch to be dope, but some of the structural narrative problems this show hoisted upon itself looms large over this program.

DA BEST

For me it wasnt bad, but it should have been all part of the Mandalorian Series. Some of the narrative problems could have been solved if they just called it: "Mandalorian S3: The Book of Boba Fett". Then it would be S1, S2, S3/BoBF and next S4. The stories of Boba and Din are clearly intertwined. I would have brought the Mando-Chapter 5 after chapter 2, which in my opinion was the best episode of this season. Of course if you change the order of the episodes you need to change some story points here and there, but I would have enjoyed it much more if there was more back and forth between Din and Boba. This clear cut after chapter 4 just doesn't feel right.

I'm still trying to get over the goofy little spin one of the mods does before he shoots his pistol, what was that? The big fight at the end seemed like it wasn't meant to be that long, Black K was out of action like 3 times and got right back up. Choosing to fight in Garsa's club was really weird too "to fight for the people." Ok cool, but where the hell are they and what use is symbolism if no ones there to witness it. Yeah, its all just a bit of a hot mess. A Bukkake if you will.

I’m totally ready to fight you Sean, pistols at dawn, because I loved that episode. 🤭

For sure dude. It was so cool seeing them talk to each other in their helmets (as funny as that sounds). I don't think they needed to change the name, just curated elements of the story a bit better so it's not such a big uneven mess. But, also this show kinda dicks around a lot. Like Eps 1 & 2 could easily be condensed into one episode. Same goes for 3 & 4 to a degree. If the Tuskens aren't gonna come back, then make them less prominent in the story, and personalize it more to a big bad Bane. If we can't really write Boba that well, we can at the very least write his motivation clearly. And at the end he's like, Maybe I don't want to be a crime boss, which is like, ..... what? To render his whole aim moot at the end of his story is a bit weird.

Could the show have been better? Yes, there was shockingly little politics for what is a show about taking over a city. You have Jennifer Beals running a vice joint and do nothing with her. (if you're going to kill her spend a lot of time with her - like oh say Boba making her his information network - so we care when she dies for more reasons than she's Jennifer Beals). BUT I gotta be honest it's hard to care about that when you have grogu cuddling with a roncor. Just shoot the cuteness and happiness into my veins.

SeanTankTop

Oh yeah, I guess both of those thoughts live in my head at once. I'm cursed Neil!

What this show lacked in strong storytelling, it made up for with a bunch of fun action that made me feel like a kid. Krrsantan forever. (BTW, The Rise of Skywalker is the only Star Wars movie I have only watched one time. It should have been called The Rise of Appeasing Twitter Users.)
