yes finally korra is back! i know the rest of this season is not the best but theres still some great moments still. like jinora's arc, its very nice that the show gave her the spotlight like that.

Can’t wait for the next episode! And I agree about the not a kids show stuff w ATLA, people should clarify that they are talking thematically. It can be misleading. And that’s what makes it so good-for a show that never gets into direct adult things like gore and sex, it amazing how it crafts such a high stakes epic tale that is engaging for all ages. That’s the magic of the series. Korra is def more adult than ATLA and a little more direct with things like death( like when Amon and tarrlok commit suicide )and other themes like in 3/4, but definitely not Game of thrones level by any means lmao.

yeah plus, gore and death arent really what make a story mature or adult and whatnot. walking death has tons of that but nowadays, thematically and emotionally its like, soap opera level lol. or all those edgelords like zack snyder that go so overtly into that it turns around and feels childish.

I understand the impotus of the meme, but its gotten to a point where people are legit arguing that it's literally not a kids show. When it literally is. That Korra's not a kid's show when it is as well. It's just fucking weird, hyper-literal, and reductive it drives me mad. They are mature kids shows, but that is what they are and why they're so special.

Yes 100%! They are kids shows, idk why people get so hung up on that. Maybe its because they think something being a kids show makes it lower quality or not complex for adult consumption? So many great works are made with a young audience in mind and are still great feats of story telling. And adults love them even if they were intended for a young crowd. I mean Harry Potter was and is huge and was made with middle schoolers as the audience and people of all ages love HP. There is quality art made for kids and honestly a mark of that is if an adult audience can watch and still connect emotionally to the story and get lost in it. ATLA definitely does that- while also being made for a young audience.

Oh yeah Michelle! Gore and sex def don't make a show better or more emotionally 'mature' or complex. They just make it inappropriate for children. The walking dead says pretty much nothing complex or interesting about society or life, but you could easily pick out some philosophical wisdom or insight from ATLA. And its a great show for kids because it approaches these emotional topics like genocide, loss of a parent or child, abuse, imperialism, and so on in a way children can cope with and understand! If I had children, these are the types of shows I would like them to watch. And it's great for adults because we can pick up on the deeper meaning to these subtle elements because we understand what the creators were trying to show. It's great for everyone!

you dont like all the varrick stuff????? its VARRICK. he is AMAZING #bestcharacter. he is sexy, and fun and cool and SIGH! yeah yeah the spirit stuff is ok but uhm we pretty got all that done so.........there is so much more to do with the varrick stuff. business, intrigue, twists and turns, surprises, betrayals! it has it all!!!!!!!!!!!! what is there to not love??????????
