Hey hey Patrons! 

Not sure if that made sense but we're singin that theme song to one of the best damn shows we've ever watched, AVATAR: THE LAST FUCKIN' AIRBENDER! 

We're kicking off the final Season of this incredible show and there's a lot to unpack! 

Does Aang kidna look like Eleven and Zuko kinda looks like Bieber!? We think so. We're a little bewildered by the time jump but it's totally necessary! Should every Toph line end with ".... ya, jagoff"? Cue Joe Pesci impersonation. AND is Sozin KINDA HOT?!?! This Fire Daddy is a confirmed Daddy.

Back when Toph discovered metalbending she yelled at Xin Fu and Master Yu, "I am the greatest Earthbender in the world, don't you two dunderheads ever forget it!" I think the only reason she said "dunderheads" instead of "dipshits" or "dumbasses" was because it's a nickelodeon show xD. Toph is such a badass. Just a monstrous little queen.

Talk about a season premiere! ATLA does not disappoint. I stand by my statement: Papa Sokka is a Snack 😋. Fire Daddy is hot I guess, but he's nothing to Papa You guys may have already priced this out, but Azlua honestly didn't know if Aang was alive or dead. She'd prefer to believe dead, but JUST IN CASE, praise (or blame) Zuko just to cover her ass. Also that puts the stress on Zuko to, as you know, confirm kill. Alzua. Love to hate her!

There's a great parallel cut in this episode that's a little subtler: the scene with Katara and her father tearfully reconciling, ending with Hakota holding her close and saying he used to lie awake missing them so hard it would ache -- SMASH CUT to Ozai, pacing several yards away from Zuko, who he makes bow on the floor, giving a hollow affirmation that he's proud of his son. Immediate juxtaposition of two very different fathers. Quoth Yondu, "He may be your father, but he ain't your daddy."

Nice this is when the real fun begins! I think the reason Azula vouched for Zuko is a little bit practicality but mostly cause she's a psychopath and likes to play games with him. Azula and Zuko are just like Cersei and Jamie in GoT (minus the incest) because she's the talented and cunning one while Zuko is just about honor and oblivious to politics. The more ya'll get into Fire Nation plot lines the more GoT fuckery we get especially in a few more episodes.

Honestly, I think Azula told Ozai that Zuko killed Aang because she doesn't leave anything to chance. And let's be honest, she didn't need the credit, she basically took over Ba Sing Se on her own. So I think she was happy to let Zuko take the credit on the off chance Aang wasn't dead. Though, when Zuko lied to her, I think that's when she knew for sure that Aang was alive.

Azula is a freakin genius!! She knew that if she didn't have Aang's limp body in a bag to take back to the fire nation -- if she didn't have absolute confirmation that Aang was dead -- she wasn't going to risk looking like a failure so she put it on Zuko. She already is her Father's favorite, she doesn't need to take credit for killing the Avatar to still be viewed as superior to Zuko in every way

Also I think Zuko didn't say anything about the spirit water bc he wanted their victory to remain believable and unquestioned -- it is the only reason he was "accepted" back after all. Plus he just wanted to believe it so badly himself because he was finally going to get what he always wanted.

I'm guessing you guys already know Korra has a divisive reputation. I didn't enjoy it much but hopefully you guys do because your reactions are really entertaining either way but even more so when you're really into something. Anyways, looking forward to this season 3 of this.

i dont think korra is as divisive as some would say it is and honestly i think you guys will probably enjoy it a lot. its like the star wars sequels minus the rise of skywalker fumbling its ending. basically if you actually understand and are cool with the last jedi and what it was trying to do youll probably like korra a lot.

also, korra is an aggresive, cocky and head strong woman protagonist and yall know how fandoms get about characters like that so that factors in a bit too, but knowing you guys i think youll be down for that. but anyway thats enough about that, great reaction guys im so exited were finally on season 3!

Agreed. Hakoda and Piandao are hot. Fire Daddy doesn't work for me. Not into the angry boy types. And Hakoda's moment with Katara was parent perfection.

I'm glad you guys appreciated Azula's "You're going to have to be a little more specific." Line. It's my favorite Azula line. She has a lot of good ones and most people prefer some of her others. I'm always in the minority opinion though :) shrug.

Hey Sean, don't think you caught this but at 11:54 you can see that girl that was flirting with Zuko (Back at season 2) in the background. The attention to detail in this show is awesome

One thing I love about Zuko's storyline is that he actually is welcomed home with honor; they make you think he'll be screwed over which will bring him to the good side, but he truly makes his own decision.

I think Zuko not revealing Aang might be alive isn't about him helping them and more about him being unsure and also being put on the spot by Azula. I mean if there was this big uproar about killing the Avatar and your scary sister was asking if they were possibly wrong I doubt you would wanna be that one guy who said so. Azula didn't tell Ozai until after she got suspicious of what Zuko knew so she is covering all possibilities. If Aang really is dead then big whoop Zuko gets the credit. She doesn't really care about glory and would most likely just care that it is one less enemy. But if the Avatar is alive then she just avoided an enormous disgrace.

Hey guys! Once again really happy that y'all are going through my coming of age series. It's still something magical! Minor production issue on Legend of Korra that isn't a spoiler. Nickelodeon was really nervous about having a spin-off series so they only renewed one season at a time. It ended up getting four but it feels a little disjointed for that reason. We're talking new main villain every season instead of one over the full series like Ozai. A lot of people gave it shit but I think it's worth the journey and I hope you guys have just as much fun watching it as we do seeing your reactions!

Actually it was only season 1 that was produced with it being a limited series in mind. After that they did get greenlit with 3 more seasons, so that's why those feel more connected, although season 2 ended up having the most production problems and budget issues and that's why that one is considered the most chaotic one. But there not being an overarching "big bad" villain is more because they didn't want to just repeat what they did for ATLA, and also why I say it reminds of Last Jedi.

also i think we shouldnt make so many posts about korra even if its not spoilers, like we should just let them enjoy it and judge it by themselves when they get to it. i know theres the fear of them hatingand not having the context for the production issues and behind the scenes drama and stuff and wanting to explain it all in advance but im pretty sure they can figure that out by themselves. if anything we would prolly leave them very skeptic by the time they actually watch it lol

This was - and still is - one of my favourite season openings of any series. After waiting the new season for what felt like ages, this gave more than enough to meet all the expectations and hype I had. I don't remember the details and propably misunderstood the news, but there was something in the media at the time about a screenwriters' strike that apparently affected a lot of series, so being a child there was some fear and speculation among me and my peers that it would somehow ruin this cartoon. Didn't end up affecting ATLA at all, but all the more fondness at this season premiere for alleviating all that worry.
