two things about Scanlans and Kaylies scenes together: You talked about how he could have done the whole "giving her useful tips of the bardic trade" thing, but that was actually the very first thing he went with - he tried to ease into the conversation by talking about her song and offering to let her bounce ideas for the lyrics off of him - *and Kaylie immediately shot it down* and was already turning around to leave him standing there before he asked for a chance to talk more over a drink, so it stands to reason to assume that the getting drunk thing really was more of a bad plan B he stumbled into when his first approach didn't work. The second thing is that at least to me it felt a lot like the "nothing in the relationship progressed there" thing was kinda the point of the scene to show that he still needs to try a lot harder to make it work, but maybe that's just me grabbing for straws there xD

Oh and as for what Mythcarver actually does: It doesn't just show "anything" or anything "true", but specifically shows legendary items like the other Vestiges - which is why in those two cases of trying to find Ripley it would have been helpful the first time when they wanted to find Percy and then was indeed helpful in proving their innocence because both times what the sword was actually showing was the cloak worn by Ripley that is itself also a Vestige (and Vox Machina know that it works that way since the second Sphinx off-handedly mentioned it in 2x6)

Matt Mercer is shouting out reactors on twitter right now.

The Scanlan part from what I remember is a full adaptation away from the game play so that's why it might have felt odd. In the game he was off trying to score spice (drugs) and had a whole adventure away from the main group. They adapted it for him talking to his daughter and flowing into the main story better but had the little joke of Mat Mercer character asking him if he wanted spice as a nod to it.

Man, I'll tell you with us old school Critters, the fact that anyone is taking an interest at all in put favorite past time is just amazing. Like imagine if some kid had a stamp collection and you were just super into it? Yeah that's us critters. It's be like if someone wanted to hear about Dustin's record collection and what it means to him. If someone was super stoked to hear Sean talk about camera equipment for nine hours with stars in their eyes the whole time. If someone asked Morgan's advice on classic, indie, or underground horror and wanted to know why what she thinks is good is good. It's something that is extremely special to all of us with a really high barrier to entry that intimidates a lot of people away. And I'm so thankful for this animated series to share this wonderful story with so many people who may not have experienced it otherwise.

What's crazy is between last season's finale and these three episodes, Scanlan has now used Mythcarver more in the animated series than he ever did in the Campaign 🤣

Last one, I promise! So the whole point of Percy's character was Taleisin Jaffe wondering what awful event could have transpired to cause the person who designed the first firearm to actually build it. And then after it was built, the sense of guilt that person would feel once their creation spread across the world. What that guilt would do to a person. And from that thought experiment, Percy was born. Also I totally understand your perspective on Keyleth. It's absolutely valid and Sean was right on the money that some things got lost in translation between the livestreams and the animated series. In the OG campaign, it makes waaaaaay more sense why keyleth hates raishan so much and why she's unwilling to work with her. It kinda glossed over it in the episode, but Raishan spent years among Keyleths people to gain their trust. She was also the one who had the idea to form the Chroma Conclave(they changed it in the animated series). She's directly responsible for genociding Keyleths people. And not just her tribesman; these were people who she knew. It was also less Keyleth saying, "Im not doing this and I'm not going to offer any other course of action!" It's more that she was telling her friends, "I don't have the answer yet, but I know rushing into an agreement with Raishan without even trying come up with another plan is a bad idea!" Of course, this is just my perspective on it. Your takes on it are absolutely valid and I apologize if I'm in any way sounding like I'm trying to be dismissive of what any of you said. No criticism intended; fantastic reaction as always!! ^_^

Really well put! I put a comment on the ep 2 uncut reaction on yt that had a similar sentiment. Kiki as a character is still a bit naive and as an audience it's easy for us to step back and see the advantages of an alliance. I've always loved and admired Marisha for taking on a character who makes "bad" decisions; it drives narrative, it provides more nuance to the character. It draws a lot of hate too, but as I said in the comment on YT, any show where people make the right decision all the time would be dull. Imagine GoT but Ned doesn't go to King's Landing.
