Hey hey Patrons!

Well Hell's Bells we got ourselves a finale and we gotta say yall, this one really fell flat for us.

In the writing, in the handling and regressing of certain characters and plotlines.

WHY IS ANNIE ACTING LIKE A FEMME CHARACTER FROM BIG BANG THEORY!?!? And after the literal 3rd consecutive episode of Hughie getting SA'd. Makes no sense and throws away what could be some effective character work and conversation about when men experience this kinda thing for really cheap sitcom level gags that border on character assassination.

What felt like it was going to broaden in scope felt small and cheap. We did an effective Supe takeover and it was like two characters from Gen V in a shipyard?

Things were rushed, when we've had plenty of time to foment them.

We got Sage going full Light Yagami "It all worked out according to plan" Super Genius, even though it doesn't quite add up.

Even Kimiko's big heart-wrenching moment is getting stepped on due to being a part of a Nirvana ending of episode montage.

Anywhoo, if yall enjoyed it, we're glad, but this one just wasn't it for us and hopefully Kripke and the gang saved up the best material for S5!

Thanks for the content! Was really validating to know there's others who disliked the finale

Personally I really cant get if the writers want us to sympathise with Ryan and Newmanns Daughter. They are both psychos and murderers.XD The Daughter killed two Agends with Glee in her Eyes and Ryan just murdered his second viktim, knowing that he easily kills people with that force. They are both not normal, even with terrible influence.

SeanTankTop

Well, that's not even remotely true for Ryan, and not what's made this show previously impressive. Like, he's been on a very fraught emotional tug of war this entire time. It's just hilarious that they, after demonstrating that, there isn't even a smidge of it with the daughter, who is now a pissed off alley cat monster 100% of the time. Like they portrayed in roughly 120 seconds a really nuanced portrait of a politically indoctrinated lone gunman in S2. We don't have a smidge of that for the character that is the essential entire reason for Victoria doing what she's doing? Its hilariously reductive given what the show has previously be able to achieve.

Yeah, I gotta say I was pretty checked out this season. Some good and funny stuff but overall messy and occasionally insulting (the Hughie SA stuff). I’m still on board and mostly looking forward to next season but…I’ll probably just go back to watching Invincible reactions for my superhero fix lol

Yall was so far off on this reaction that it was hard to watch🤦 Y'all really have to keep in mind that this is a different world from ours so the moral bullshit that y'all trying to put on this show is exhausting in a losing battle this show does not operate on good guys and bad guys like the bullshit we grew up on, everybody has gray in them. Everybody has conflict in them. For me that's what make the show so great. I was so disappointed in this reaction because y'all I kept trying to squeeze something out of the show, that was never part of the show 🤦

The Deep is Stifler in superhero form.

I was incredibly annoyed when Starlight shamed Hughie for sleeping with the shape shifter. WTF how was he supposed to know?

Moldyboi

My issue with the finale wasn't really that is resulted in our protagonists losing but in the questionable writing choices (Hughie and Starlight being the main one). Don't think most Boys watchers would expect fairy tale endings

Andreas Froby

I would say it is not so different from our world except the super hero part. We live in a very grey world too, no good or bad everybody is on a scale and few people in our world is is on perfect good part of the scale if any. You can always find something some bad things on any world, thats doesn't mean we should not have morals and try to be better everyday, and despite people that go too far in immoral direction

🌟 Critickiller🌟

You would be surprised, Even with Sean's in the gang's reaction they couldn't stop putting what we find moral in this world and try to put it in that boys world which is a losing battle. And I enjoy the show because I accept the boys for what it is 🤷 they still operate under good guys and bad guys. The boys universe is not that and I thought they made it clear in the first three seasons 🤷

🌟 Critickiller🌟

It's a satire version of our world, but it is very different from our world, we do live in a world where people think that there's good guys and bad guys. But in reality, a good guy think he's a "good guy" and the "bad guy" thinks he's a "good guy"I think he's a "good guy" or at least feel like he's doing the right thing, what's frustrating about this reaction from people is it's been established that there's no "good guys", just different perspectives so I feel bad for the writers getting called terrible before they even piece all of the parts together 🤦

Andreas Froby

Don't see it wrong to put our morales from our world into what you said this satire version of our world. Because if it is a satire version of our world then apply our morals works, then you can have characters that don't share your morals as it is in our world, we dont have same values everybody in our world, we would live in a very peaceful society if that was the case

SeanTankTop

I don’t think that a show with satirical elements ultimately creates a blank check for awful and alarmingly feckless mishandling of a very sensitive subject. There are elements of statire pretty much around everything Vaughn does as a company, and certain aspects and subversions of tropes, but there is a real dramatic story here. like, is Kimikp and Frenchies subplot satire? Is Ryan’s journey satire? If you could explain then, what is Hughie getting SA’d for 3 episodes straight and then Starlight being mad about it exactly satirizing?
