Slapstick Together Chapter 1 REBOOT (23) (Patreon)

i really thought the pages with the no shading and no background would be easier to make, but BOY was i wrong! Having to draw in a smaller canvas than the one i originally sketched in has proven to give me some trouble when it comes to smaller panels (like the last one), but i'm gonna truck on through to try and make the best of it!

not wanting to keep these TOO simple, i did my best to still convey a bit of depth to Leo's void with some gradients. i think it turned out alright!

other than that, i once again tweaked the dialogue a tiny bit,
and had a lot of fun designing the more cartoony props!

that snazzy velvet suit he's holding in the third panel is actually in reference to the original design for Leo's date suit that i was going with! (the one in the bonus picture!) it's a good lookin' suit, but i think it exudes a bit too much confidence for a first date! i like the more comfy, down the earth-ness of the brown plaid suit. as a friend put it:

"the plaid says "i'll have her home by 10" while the velvet is more of a "i'm taking you home tonight""
