Deer in the Headlights - Episode 7 Preview (Patreon)

“Whatcha lookin’ for?” a voice from behind asks.
You flap your arms like a startled bird, then slip and fall against the rock, lantern flying from wet fingers only to land on the symmetrical antlers sprouting from the head of a lithe figure. Furry, brown legs approach, the woman wearing nothing but a warm smile and simple cloth sashes wrapped around her chest and waist, obscuring the transition from a fleshy upper human half to a lower… satanic half?
No, the fur isn’t quite shaggy enough for a goat or a satyr. Her spotted legs are almost impossibly thin, standing atop hooves the size of hockey pucks—noticeably too skinny for the humanoid body they’re meant to support.
And yet, here she is: a deer… girl?
Yup, that’s definitely, undeniably what she is: half deer, half young woman. Worse, she’s cute. The fur on her legs appears tantalizingly soft and inexplicably dry. Even the antlers are, upon a second inspection, the rounded fuzzy kind that might be nice to nuzzle against.
The deer giggles as she removes the lantern dangling from her head. A slim arm offers the lamp. “Here, you dropped your light.”
“Uhh…” Your hand dances blindly for the screamer. Where the hell is it? “Thanks,” you add in a flighty tone as you slowly twist away from the admittedly charming monster girl.
“You’re welcome.” She smiles again and crouches down beside you, inspecting the sleeping caravan. “Are these your carts?”
“N- No.” Still nothing. Fuck. Should you just start yelling? You’ll probably be grabbed and gulped before making enough noise to alert anyone.
“Well, what are you doing lurking in the rain?” Suddenly, she turns and gasps. “You’re a bandit! I’ve heard about humans like you. You’re going to steal from them!”
“Wait, no! I—””
“That’s not very nice!” are the last words you hear as her open mouth descends and engulfs your face…
